Anderson fought above a weight, bj is a weight smaller than GSP. Forrest is a good fighter and Anderson demolished him.

So a GSP magically grown to heavyweight wouldn't be the explosive guy you expect, and Fedor shrunk down wouldn't be so strong. P4P just doesn't make sense because a guy 50% bigger is not 50% stronger at same speed, but more like 30% stronger at 20% less speed. So there is no way of comparing how the fighters' styles and techniques would translate.

Or maybe there is some other meaning to P4P that you all are talking about? -- if so, please explain to me ... I must be dense.

What P4P means is that you take weight out as a factor but otherwise have the fighter retain everything else and then hypothetically compare who would be best.

After letting the excitement wear off a bit after UFC 101, I'm still keeping Fedor at #1. When he demolishes his next opponent people will make a thousand threads saying he's the best. That's just the way it goes. Same thing happened when GSP won at UFC 100.

But that is why it is dumb -- you can't just magically shrink/grow people and have them retain the same strength and speed. If that is what you're comparing then it is a unrealistic. If you are considering that strength and speed change with weight then the effectiveness of their style changes. Lastly, weight is actually a tool used when in a mount -- i.e. how do you consider how BJ would get out of Fedor mounted on him if you don't consider Fedor's weight?

People can't even agree on rankings within the actual weight classes, so trying to extend the discussion across all fighters seems futile.

Anderson fought where he should be fighting.

If already there has to be something like a p4p list, then you could also add retired fighters to that list and compare 'em to actual fighters.
In your opinion, where would Bas Rutten and Rickson Gracie stand on that list?

These five fighters are p4p the best fighters of all time

Kevin Randleman- Best biceps and triceps. the guys deltoids (shoulders) look like cannon balls. he has the biggest hamstrings and quads in the sport.

Sean Sherk- Shredded abs. really big lats and traps(upper back). he could work on getting thicker pecs(chest).

Marvin Eastman- The guy looks like a bodybuilder. he has the best symetry. real thick pecs, (probably the best in that category). his shoulders, biceps, and triceps, are huge.

Phil Baroni- Real muscular arms and shoulders. He's got really ripped abs and sides. He needs more muscle in his legs. and his pecs could be a little bigger.

Georges St. Pierre-Last but not least. the p4p best fighter of all time. He has a
10-pack for abs. his quads and calves(legs) are huge with definition as well. He has a really muscular back(mostly in the traps). he has really good balance in his shoulders. hes got three headed triceps that are ripped. If i had to pick something he lacked, it would be mass in his chest although its so toned that it makes up for it

Forrest wasn't that big a credential, but his other recent fights puts him near top o' heap. Fedor would kill him though.
