Can someone please tell me why BJPenn is in the top 5??? His record does not warrant this nomination.

As I said over the hill fighters or LHW and MW fighters. Not true HW.

He wasn't high in the top 10 (for me), probably 8 or so.
A win over Marquardt is big (though I thought Marquardt won).
Kampmann was considered a top MW prospect before his surgery, so not an awful loss on the resume and Leites had won much after.
The MW division is pretty rough with it being spread over multiple orgs.
It's tough to say where Leites should stack up against Robbie, Akiyama, Gegard and Trigg.
I like Jacare and Mayhem, but I don't think they'd be ahead of Leites. I'd say before the fight with Silva I'd put Leites above Maia (as Marquardt is a bigger win than Sonnen, but I like Maia more and think he has a brighter future).

I just hope they don't give Maia his shot to early. I think he needs to continue to develope his striking a bit more if he is going to face the spider.
If he is able to accomplish this then watch out, he is going to be hard to beat.

Ya, don't get me wrong, I like Kampmann a lot but he was injured and then went down to Welter...that doesn't bode too well overall for Leites.
Still...I really want to see Mousasi, Manoef, Souza, Akiyama, and Lawler against Anderson at Middleweight and maybe Vera and Jardine against him at LightHeavy.

Nate the Great- top 10 fighter
Travis Lutter- awesome grappler and overweight for fight
Rich Franklin- top 5 fighter
Chris Leben- top 20 fighter
Tony Fryklund- decent fighter and solid striker
Fedor last ten fights:
AA- top 5 fighter
Tim Sylvia- top 10 fighter
Hong Mon Choi- huge guy
Matt Lindland- very good, but a MW fighter
Mark Hunt- World class Kickboxer, but not MMA fighter
Mark Coleman- over the hill and outclassed
Zulu- fat, slow, unathletic
CroCop- awesome fighter and number 3 at the time, i believe, in the world
TK- not ranked in the top 50 when they fought-complete one dimensional fighter
Big Nog- ranked number 2 when they fought and on the P4P list
has fedor fought ranked guys as much as ASilva? No, he hasn't, but he has fought quality guys...and he was dominant in all his fights, except for the Choi fight where he was overwhelmed by his size early, but caught an arm....he still has fought tough fights though....

why mention zulu and not Sobral, Herring or Arona? I'm not saying they are amazing fighters but they are all better than Zulu. Herring is a heavyweight... hmmm?

ahh.. I hope you know that fedor is not a true heavy weight. He can easily lose weight and then cut down to 185lbs.

Vera vs. Anderson???? ... now that sounds intriguing stylistically. I would love to see this happen.

It'd be nice to see some of that.
Before Strikeforce ate up EXC's MW division I was hopeful we'd see Robbie, Benji and Joey V flood into the UFC.
At least they got Akiyama. I wonder if he'll get a shot at Silva before Okami...
Some part of me wants Randy to move back to LHW and fight Anderson. No clue why.
