People don't take him seriously at all. I know he was Antonio Inoki's last ever student. And that he was a pro wrestler who turned to MMA instead of the other way around.
But this guy is WAY under rated IMO. The guy is 13-4 with his 4 losses coming at the hands of Fedor (whom he almost beat), Coleman (Fujita's corner threw the towel in 2 seconds into round one due to exhaustion) & Cro-Cop (twice, but once due to a cut). Think about that.
It seems he's the under dog in EVERY fight he goes into & his upcoming match with Wandy is no exception. The problem was he ended up signing with K-1 shorty after his loss to Fedor & basically vanished from the public eye, only fighting 3 times in 3 years. (all wins by the way)
People forget that Fujita doesn't just have 'some' freestyle amature wrestling experience. Fujita almost made it to the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta but lost on points in his qualifying match. So he's no clown.
And he's built like a fireplug. Plus they don't call him Iron Head for nothing. He took a full blast kick in the head from Mirko & didn't even go down. (ala. Hunt)
I know Fujita is the dark horse to win the OWGP, but I'll tell you one thing, I'm sure cheering for him.
