exactly my point...he basically stated nog isnt worthy...and fans almost praise him for that...its ridiculous

Nog is one of the best ever, no doubt. He has taken on all comers, never backing down from any fight. He's held the belt in Pride, and now holds it in the UFC. Plus he's a class act that never talks bad about anyone.

It's too bad Randy doesn't give Nog enough respect to want to fight him.

The expression too legit to quit relates very well to Big Nog. The man has the biggest heart in mma. Very legit!

Anyhow, he is #1 in my book. Yes, Fedor beat him, but Nog has also beat more top fighters: Mirko, Barnett, Werdum, Sylvia, Sergei, Coleman, Schilt, Herring thrice...

Even if Fedor beat him, it is a big question mark how he would match up with other top 10 fighters. He's really only beat Nog and Mirko. BY now we know that beating the second or third guys ranked isn't necessarily a proof that you would own the rest. Forrest vs. Shogun proved this, Mirko vs. Hunt, Gonzaga and Kongo proved this, and Chuck vs. Jardine also proved this. Even Hughes vs. Hallman and Gomi vs. Aurelio and Diaz proved this. I think Nog is going to have a hard time against these big monsters; but no other HW, in history, has fought the competition he's faced and come up with such a positive record.
I like how you think, nice use of examples.

Those are some legitimate losses if you ask me...

So next to Fedor, is Nog #2 HW of all time? Im sure alotta ufc fans here are gunna say couture is #2 all time, although back to back ko losses to chuck and a loss to a younger less experienced barnett...

thoughts..
agreed.

Randy has a chance to unseat Nog, but gettnig a fight with Fedor and beats him is a pre-requisite to even entertaining that debate, IMHO. Nog's resume is more impressive, as it stands now, IMHO. Even their last fights...Randy took an injured Sylvia to a decision win, while Nog got beat up for a while, but then *finished* Tim.

2nd best HW of all time, he would have been the #1 HW is he would have got 1 win over Fedor. He's the second best fighter of all time behind Fedor.

Nog is the second greatest fighter of all time as things stand. I see no logic whatsoever in putting Randy ahead of him. Yes Randy's comebacks are impressive but he has never achieved the kind of consistancy Nog has.
