Gurgel 2 to 1 favorite

Is Jorge Gurgel good enough to be a 2 to 1 favorite over anyone in the UFC? His last 4 fights have went to a decision where anything can happen. And he took a brutal beating in the last fight. I just can't see him being -215 over anyone.

He's fighting John Halverson who I havn't seen fight. Halverson that bad?

Opinions?

So Halverson's at about +180 or so then? I kinda like that bet.

Halverson is a durable fighter with a relatively padded record. He's alright on the feet and alright on the ground. The times he's fought mid to high level opposition he's gotten crushed. What you can expect is for him to take Gurgel the distance, and depending of Gurgel's performance, maybe pull out a decision.

What Halverson has on his side here is patience and consistency. Gurgel on the other hand can be pretty flaky- sometimes he'll look good, other times he just can't keep it together.

he's got a lot of pride, he sticks to what he knows even if that means getting his face destroyed...

it's disgusting to me that gurgel is still getting fights, he's a very cheap fight for the ufc in ohio, no travel costs and probably $2000 to fight but enough is enough (and was before his fight with alvin robinson too and probably before that even).
anybody who says they like watching jg fight usually admits he is their bjj coach or best friend or something, he should not still be getting fights in the ufc

I probably know 7 to 9 guys personally who could beat Gurgel. I dont see why they keep bringing this guy back.

Gurgel is sorry. He does have alot of heart but he dont belong in the cage. He should stick to coaching with ace. Hes too small for the weight class. Hes blown up.
