This is my second thread

I decided to start this one as I'm a big gomi fan, and i just couldn't take people picking Sherk or Gomi unreasonably.

I must say i'm not completely unbiased in having my opinion, but please do hear me.
( I'm not a troll, and ungentlemanly replies are NOt appreciated)

It is true to talk about a fighter and say how good he is, u probably should know ab out a fighting some what and watch his fight, and maybe put a little effort to think about it.

Well, i've only watch a little bit of his fights since I am one of those ppl who does not appreciate the artistic movements of sherk on top of an other fighter. some people may not let this pass easily and talk about me not being a true mma fan and all, but if u think about it. You don't have to like the defence SPurs are playing against Phoneix Suns to be a NBA team, or u don't have to like how great the defensive team Broncos have, or u don't have to like how well England National soccer team passes and uses the whole field.


Anyways, I've seen sherk getting manhandled by St pierre. I've seen sherk having touch time taking down Diaz. I've seen taking down what's his name ,that skinny Bjj guy a while ago for lightweight title match. a little bits of it. well, that little man has lots of packed muscle and have a pretty decent take downs.

BUT, I think ppl gives him too much credit for his power and muscles. I mean sherk may have more muscles and strengthes than gomi, but he is not necesarily better wrestler than Gomi. I mean, ppl look past the fact that Gomi used to be gnper like sherk, but changed to how he is now, more of a striker than a gnper. Also, the fact Bj penn's numerous take downs were taken as he got Gomi against the CAGE. I could be wrong, but I believe there was only one take down he got without Gomi being against the CAGE. At most, two, i think. Also, ppl forget that he was on the best p4p figher a year or two ago with FEDOR. I mean. he lost via submission by Aurelio, which is uh.....one of the best BJJ guy on mma........becuz he had this wild hook throwing cuz Aurelio kept back pedalling........and got a great takedown....and he got taken down twice in his second match twice, once becuz he was doing this half hearted kick fake at the end of the match, and once becuz aurelio, i think, did a great set up, which i think was punch kick then double,..... i mean aurelio was fucking shooting in thousand times.......


I mean, just becuz u got good takedowns, it means uare better wrestler in free style wrestling. It will help u, but it won't always lead you to a victory cuz wrestling is much more than that. Also, wrestling is much more than just muscles and power. Even though the legendary JOhn Smith is much skinnier and less strong as Sherk, Sherk will never be able to beat him with two more arms. By no means, i'm not comparing Gomi to Smith.
Obviously. But, Gomi was a WRESTLER also....not a bad one....


Only thing that I think Sherk might be favored is the cage......

I think Sherk will be favored too becuz of the damn cage and Gomi's horrible fight against Penn in the cage...

But, please stop saying Gomi can't stop those take downs. Cuz, I know he can. Cuz, he is not a striker who just came from K1. For Fedor's sake....

Gomi lked unbeatable after that GP, dispatching kawajiri, and shooto box guy and Sakurai. but couple losses, anyone can come in and take him down obviously....

Gomi was gassed two minutes into the Diaz fight... Honestly if you don't think Sherk can take gomi down then you need to be cock slapped. Sherks fighting pace is just way to much for Gomi.

obviously gomi gets his fight dictated becuz of fast pace. Talk about fast pace, who has fast er pace, azerobo(?wrong spelling possible) or sean sherk??????

Classic...lol, and also so true. Gomi doesn't have the endurance to last 1 round with Sherk. Very bad match up for him.

I think you made the point. Sherk shoots and puts Gomi against the cage...picks him up and slams him...pins him on the cage...reigns down punches and elbows. Gomi has better standup, but Sherk knows that and wouldn't attempt to stand with him. Sherk by unanimous decision.

there was another thread similar before....Sean Sherk is too strong,and a much better wrestler then Gomi. His GnP will dominate Gomi into oblivion....if he couldnt handle Diaz's pace theres no way in hell he could handle the pace of the muscle Shark.He does have a punchers chance though...actually a very good chance to KO sherk...the only one who has before is GSP but i think Gomi is capable as well....however if he doesnt catch him right away i think sherk will ware him down and pound him out.

I'll give you that. Gomi has a punchers chance against anyone, however, if Sherk can grab him before getting KTFO, its all over because Gomi does not have good cardio.

gomi has fire for fists. but sherk is like a rhino...if you dont stop him and end him quick. he will plow right through you. no lightweight has the pure strength of sherk. i love gomi. but he must keep sherk away from him!

If you we never saw the Diaz fight? Then you never saw Gomi fighting before? lol
Gomi never gassed so early and so badly, so maybe it had something to do with having a jet leg or being ill or whatever reason to insert.
