National Geographic Fight Science?!?

I was just watching that deranged piece of horse shit sporting some of the biggest frauds known to man and I couldnt keep wondering why noone on that show producer nor participant (save the allways flamboyant Rickson Gracie) actually got into a fight.

They actually spent a show praising Glenn Levy, a ninja, as the ultimate warrior. His one punch kill was tested on a dummy and received a 0.8 reading (1.0 being total destruction of the body) on a crash-test dummy.

Great work assholes. Give me a clear shot at someones chest and IŽll puncture a lung and kill that person. Total bums. I cant beleive that show got approved for airing. Check it out guys. Bring the vomit bag.

On the good side - they concluded that MT had the best kick (which actually was a knee to the body from the clinch) and that Boxing has the best punch. The funny thing was that the comparisons were made with guys of different weight. What total tools.

They concluded the dogmatic "size doesnt matter, its the technique". Yeah say that to Big Nog who struggled against Sapp or maybe Hoost and other skillful boxers who got pwnd.

Size and agresiveness, two of the TMAs worse enemies, are the most important IMO. See Fedor who is techincaly unperfect yet his complete game with agresive execution and power make up for any style wise deficiency. I still think his biggest asset his head.

It was a great documentary about the SCIENCE of martial arts, not about who has the hardest punch or kick. They measured everything they did and it was a great look into what the body goes through when training or competing.
If you train, which I'm guessing you don't, any GOOD instructor will go into some of the science of the body and why certain things happen and others don't.
Open your mind.

I thought it was funny that fight science was a series of tests that had no controls, infinite variables, and basically the only thing scientific about it was that they had some tools that gave measurements.

They actually said that the ninja death-punch is worse for a human than a roided up dude rocking your face wt a crowbar. It was plain silly.

I watched it too and was a more than a little disapointed. They should have called it "punch science" or "the science of breaking shit". Those tow crazy brothers that broke stuff with their head was kind of cool.
