My view of Mauricio Rua/Cyrille Diabate

Props to Mauricio for playing it smart he new he had the disadvantage on the feet so he went fo r the ground. As for Cyrille I hope he continues his MMA career. I think he has a future all he needs is to continue training in grappling.

yup, it looked like Shogun might have a rough time in the early going, until his training and experience took over. Diabate's reach is insane for a 205er.

Dont think Overeem is nearly as good as snake on the feet. I thought Shogun was gonna get KOed there for a little while until he decided to go to the ground.

When he hit shogun the first two times and his reach fustrated Shogun. the desire to see him stand with Overeem was the first thing that crossed my mind.

Damn. No one of you guys did check Cyrille's record? He's been in the MMA game for a while now after a 10 years KB/MT career.

Cyrille is not a so-called striker. He's actually a striker. He's training grappling for a long time now.

Take a look at his Snake Team blog.

Reality Check: This was Shogun's first fight coming off pretty much a devasting arm injury. With that in mind, Shogun did pretty damned good.

you my friend hit the nail, how the hell can we spect that shogun will make a one-side beating against a exelent striker like the snake?? i mean give the men a break that injurie was a serious deal, look at mirko for god sake, if i remeber correctly afte r ge got KO'ed by the monster he faced kanehara and fough veyr very bad, he complitlly gassed and looked sloopy too !!! becose he was coming of a bad period, a lot of fighters after a war, a injurie or a hard defeat, they need at least 2 or 3 fights to get back on the track, they need to adapt and take out also the ring rust, of cource we have other fighters that just don't need that and can came back rocking out loud but maybe that is not the case of shogun, he needs time to be the fighter he was.
