My view on franklin
Reading some of the post on Rich Franklin and I dont understand why some rate him as this graet fighter??I think Franklins quite a good fighter...not great. He was champ in a shallow enough division and looked really dominant, but he got found out. The talent pools much deeper now with the likes of Silva, Marquardt, Salaverry, Okami, Kampmann, Swick and Lyoto. Theres guna be no more fighting loiseau and beating him up bad and looking like your unbeatable. Silva schooled him but thats not to say he wont come back stronger, only this time he's guna have to prove himself against better competition and earn a rematch..he will beat mcdonald but that isnt makin a huge statement...end of story. His return will certainly be much tougher than his initial rise. I wouldn't count him out though.

Salaverry, Swick, and Marquardt were all around when Franklin was champ and none of them earned a title shot. Lyoto is fighting at 205. Franklin will walk through everybody until he gets wi Silva. He will beat Silva but it will be a great fight. One loss, and all of the sudden he sucks. Loiseau and Tanner are both very strong opponents.

Not to beat a dead horse, but going back and watching that fight you gotta admit that something about Franklin didn't look quite right. Watch his intro. A healthy Rich Franklin would put up a lot better showing against Mr. Anderson.

He's on his way back to the promised land.
It will be a tough journey cuz he'll have to face top quality opponents along the way.
The next 3-4 fights will determine if he's good or great.

The guy loses one match in the UFC and instantly he is not great? He will come back strong get back into his winning ways and be number one contender in no time.

You read that other thread started today on Franklin, and instead of responding to it, decide to start a whole new thread on this exact subject? C'MON.
True 185 ain't like it was when Franklin was champ, but Franklin still > most of ther other contenders and he should beat the majority of em convincingly.
Also it's very likely that if he wants, UFC would give him a title shot after his Macdonald win. So really he doesn't have to prove shit vs the other contenders in order to get that shot.
I do hope that he waits a little while longer before going after the title though, maybe 1 more fight after his Macdonald won would be nice.

Not one loss. One fight where he was totally fucking dismantled! The guy was champ, he shouldn't have a problem making weight and he should have done his research.
I don't think he can make it back mentally.

Agreed, Okami was around when Rich was champ as well. Franklin is a legit A-class fighter, he wasn't doing too bad against Silva until they clinched. After that, it all went down hill, and now he sucks Please, he's just as great as he ever was all we have is a great fighter who had a bad game plan; it happens.
BTW, I don't believe Franklin OR Leben were knocked out by Silva. Agreed, they both got beat BAD, BUT, when the fight was stopped, they were both still conscious with there hands up as if telling the ref they didn't want any more of Silva. Just something I thought should be considered.
