My View of Chuck-Rampage 1, and predictions for 2

Look I' just finished watching the first fight, and I noticed a lot. I know the way everyone describes it, it just seemed like a completely one sided fight, but it really wasn't. First round summed it all up. If you watch, they obviously turned it into a boxing match, exchanges here and there. Chuck with his really open stance, Rampage with his very orthodox boxing stance. During the exchanges, Rampage uses his elbows and forearms to block, which is something you've seen Tito do with Chuck. Rampage has the bigger arms and closes the space between his elbows but does leave it open for split seconds.

Rampage may have gotten the more noticable punches, and the better of the exchanges, but you really can't say chuck didnt really land any at all. He hit Rampage with a couple of good ones, but we all know how much of a chin both of them have. Then comes Rampage trying for the takedown, he takes Chuck against the ropes, only to be turned around and put on the ropes himself. Chuck does display his superior wrestling, not only on the first takedown attempt from Rampage, but at least two more. That takedown where Chuck grabbed the rope, they moved it to the middle, and Chuck got up real quick, and no matter how much of a Pride Nuthugger you are, you know it.

The Second round comes, and heres where Chuck slows down and you can obviously see it. The way it goes, they clinch a couple of times, and then Rampage puts Chuck on the ropes, and then Chuck reverses the position, until that last one where Rampage finally got the slam.

Rampage finally does the thing to Chuck that no one else ever gets the chance to do: Knock the Wind out of Chuck. Everyone who fought Chuck, always wanted to land that miracle Matt Serra type punch on him, but Rampage played it smart and elbowed the ribs, and knocked his wind out. Fight's over.

Here's where I stand for Part 2: You can't be biased and say Rampage is going to slam him on the mat, or Chuck's knocking him the fuck out with that over hand right.

They both know the others strengths and weaknesses, Juanito knows Chuck, Hackleman knows Rampage.

Sure, they've changed since then, but not fucking dramatically people. I see the fight going like this, Rampage, isn't going for takedowns, and Chuck like always is going to try and exchange. Chuck may have something new in his stand up, which he did not use in the first one: LEG KICKS. Chuck is going for leg kicks, and nasty ones. Rampage, is going for the clinch, because he knows that its a difference between flipping each other around on the ropes, and the cage. Rampage knows his knees could have done a lot more damage. Another thing, Rampage isn't going for a takedown, he's going to exchange the whole time.

Discuss, Flame, make fun of, whatever.
