Well fight day has finally arrived. We were super pumped and having
the greatest weekend ever but it was about to get better. We got to
the MGM around noon after printing off some more 8x10 of the photos
we thought we could get signed. We headed over to the Garden Arena
in case they had anything going on and to figure out when doors would
open. Doors opened at 4:30 so we hung around there for a while and
a few minutes later we noticed George St. Pierre coming in from outside
and being the only people down there it wasn't hard to get a photo.
Then we went back to the lobby and noticed Marcus Davis checking in
so we said hi got a quick shot and wished him luck next month. He was
very appreciative and nice and after we talked to him a bunch of other people
started getting pictures and talking to him.
A few minutes later we spotted Eddie Bravo and got a quick shot. He
was cool. We saw him the other day when we snuck back into the arena
area but he was doing some business and radio stuff so we didn't bother
him.
We went back downstairs of the Garden Arena again to hang out and wait for
the doors to open. We noticed on Sean Salmon's blog that he had to be there
at 3:00 so we figured other fighters would be too. Sean was the first one we saw
and we got a pic of his whole team.
Then we saw seem really hot girls outside so we checked it out. It was 2 of the 5
Xyience girls Tammy and Candi. They were handing out little autograph cards-baseball
sized so we got a quick photo with them. Enjoy!
While we were waiting Mandy Moore walked by us but I didn't notice because I was
too distracted by these two clowns trying to fit a big cart of drinks and snacks through
the metal detectors. It was funny but I was pissed that I missed out on Mandy.
Then Forrest Griffin came running by in a hurry my friend spotted him outside. But
he had to get in real fast to work Carmelo Marrero's corner but said he will be around later.
One of the security guys that we were cool with tipped us off that Randy Couture would be
coming in about 15 mins so we got excited and waited around but never saw him. By
now they started letting people in but we hung around outside to see if anymore fighters
were coming. Not seeing any and the first fight starting at 5:05 we went in. As we walked in
to find our seats we saw Randy Couture which was sweet, but we didn't approach him because
he was helping out a handicapped guy in a wheelchair so we didn't want to be the
jerk fans that will bother people no matter what they are doing. We had a few rules that we
left them alone
1-on the phone
2-with significant other (w/some exceptions)
3-eating
4-helping someone out or anything that would make us come of as jerks
5-if they turned down a photo or autograph don't beg or keep asking(we were never
turned down which was awesome)
We just used common sense because we don't want to be the fans that ruin it for
everybody else in the future.
We got to our seats which weren't bad, lower level section M8
Well we saw the first bout which started off slower pace which was met with some boos(still
don't see why people boo but thats just me) then it picked up and Wilson Gouveia
walked away with a submission win. So we ran back downstairs and saw Forrest Griffin.
Asked for a quick photo which he gladly obliged and wished him luck on his next fight
in Ireland, he was a little bummed because quoting Forrest "his guy got his ass kicked"
but overall really cool guy, he is one of my favorites in the 205 because his fights
are usually exciting and he always gives it everything so I was glad to meet him
well thats 6 pics so new post stay tuned and keep looking down because
we are just getting started. I have about 10 or more pics left to put up.
