Miller is going to EASILY submit Lawler?
First of all I like Miller and I wish him luck, however, I just feel people are judging his fighting ability based on his personality.
I'm shocked that 70% of the voters really think Lawler is going to lose!!
There's been lots of quotes of people saying "Miller by sub rnd 1" and "Jason will take it to the mat within the first two minutes".
That's fine and dandy, but have you seen Lawler's take-down defense? Do you think they don't know how to wrestle in Iowa? He is easily one of the best take-down defenders in MMA. There have been very few fights where Lawler has even been on the ground (Niko managed to take Lawler down, but Niko's HUGE). I'm not saying it's impossible, but as Mayhem put it himself, "Robbie's not gonna just jump in my guard". Lawler will keep the fight standing up becuase that has been his advantage in every fight (except Pete Spratt).
I know Robbie has been submitted but it was only once and it was by triangle to Evan Tanner two years ago. Because Jason Black (MFS teammate) just lost by triangle in Bushido 12, I don't imagine Robbie (or Pat Miletich) will allow him to get choked by triangle. If you take away that one sub, then you are left with a fighter that has not been submitted.
People are judging Robbie's ground game when it's really all speculation. Of course I will give the edge to Miller on the ground, but I have to question some of the talent he has been fighting. The two most recent fights for Miller really solidified his reputation as having an excellent ground game. I mean he totally dominated Lodune Sincaid and Gamlin. But come on people those are not quality opponents. One is a giant sloth and the other is a former Reality TV star!
Moreover, Jason deserves some props for haning in there with GSP. However, a loss is still a loss. GSP is a freak of an athlete and so is Lawler. I feel we can expect similar results on Saturday. If it somehow goes to a decision, Lawler will esily win it (he's never lost one).
All this said I highly doubt it will go to the judges and therefore I will predict Lawler by KO in the middle of round 2.
p.s I wanted to stick up for Robbie because we all know he can't do the talking himself. This will definitely be a great fight and I'm pissed it's not going to be televised
p.p.s. I know I will never hear the end of this from the monkeys, but it is going to make room for discussion

miller is an extremely dangerous ground fighter. i just don't see lawler being able to defend miller's non stop submission attack for 3 rounds.

its interesting u say that Lawler has only been submitted once, so his defense is very good and miller most likely wont be able to do it. good point i suppose, but howbout the fact that Miller has never been stopped other than i think one submission? if miller cant submit lawler cuz he only had one loss to submission, why can lawler knock out miller if hes had 0 losses to ko.

Should be very entertaining. I see Miller clinching, throwing some knees, getting a takedown, and winning by RNC (assuming he does not get KTFO in the process).

Lawler is not a great fighter by any stretch and comparing him to GSP is ridiculous. Robbie Lawler is a lesser version of a Phil Baroni. He throws big and if he doesnt land he loses. Mayhem will win this fight.
