Med Students: How Long Is Rua Out?
so anyone who knows anything about elbow breaks/dislocations... how long do you think rua is out for? given that he is somewhat priming right now in pride, this couldnt have come at a worse time for the guy. so when do you think hell be ready to fight again?
i know there's several factors here... (clean break, multiple fractures, etc)... but an estimate.

It depends on how much damage there is (if any) to surrounding tendons and ligaments. If it requires surgery, then the recovery time will probably be much longer. Let's hope for the best, we'll probably get more information in the next few days to be able to get a good estimate.

yeah they will need to do x-rays and MRI's on his arm to find out just what is the next step. Ligament tears in knees are 6 months, I would assume the elbow is probably about the same.

Its really a shame that a fighter of Shogun of his caliber has to face an injury that might plague him for life now. He's young too. It wouldn't be so bad if he was old, but Shogun is a rising star and Pride would have built the LHW division around him after Wanderlei has retired.
I hope he gets back to 100%.
