Mauricio Shogun Seminar in West Virginia!

Pride 2005 Middleweight GP Champion Mauricio Shogun, will be doing a series of MMA seminars in the USA in late July. Shogun is recovered from his elbow injury and training hard to get back in action in September, and follow up with a busy schedule of fighting until the end of the year. Before that, due to the great response of fans and and all the friends made in the last trip in January, Shogun will be taking time while his schedule allows to do one more short trip to the USA for a series of seminars, traveling around this great country mostly to new places, giving other fans a chance to interact with him, with the exception ot Taunton, MA, where we will be returning one more time due to the great response we always get from the area. The schedule is almost finished, and now it's time to reveal details from each seminar, as we thank all for their support!

Shogun, as said, will be doing a seminar Charleston, West Virginia, capital of the state and near by many areas that never had a chance to meet/train with Shogun. This will be our first time in town, and we had good seminars in the state of Virginia in the past, so we're hoping it'll be also great to reach this new area, therefore it's always good to hurry and secure a place, as those who were in our seminars last time can tell how it was =) Also this is our first time without lots of snow and cold, so hopefully people will be encouraged to go =) Butch, the guy who runs the academy is a great guy and is doing a great effort to try to make the local MMA scene grow, and we are hoping to help and show/see some support!!

It's also done in a way where anyone, from begginers to pro-fighters can train and learn. Those who have attended knows it's a good seminar, and you won't regrett attending it.

Is there a need for a thread about every 79 locations or something? Ask the mods for a sticker it´d have better results.

Everytime this happens. I honestly find it funny.

I think when you have one for each city it makes it easier for people in those cities to see it, and go and find the info! Sometimes if one just reads " Shogun seminars" it's something, but when he reads the name of his city or any other nearby, it calls his attention and he realizes he can go and take the chance, so he reads it.

PLUS, I dont understand why this bother people so much. There are ENDLESS POINTLESS threads on the forum ALL the time. With ridiculous subjects and things that lead people to nowhere. Yet pepole can simply not read it, and I don't complain about any of them, never ever. I also never delete them in another forum where I am a mod, because I feel people have the right to see what they want and read what they want, PLUS, they have the OPTION TO NOT READ IT.

Also, this is something that is relevant for a lot of people. Its not based on opinions alone, its not speculation, its not offensive and not lies, etc. Its a service for fans and practitioners that have interest in it, and for a fighter that puts his neck on the line and actually is willing to interact with fans.

Im not saying only because of your post, and I dont think you meant harm. But it has happened in worst fashion like " BAN" or something in the past, and I REALLY and honestly dont understand it. Maybe that's one of the reasons why few fighters and people who work on the bizz come here to share views and experiences, cause it doenst seem to be what people want, and forums where first of all made for that.

Sorry for any inconvinience,

Eduardo Alonso.

Eduardo don't take offense to Tommy's post im sure he didn't mean anything by it. Infact I wouldn't have know that Shogun was gonna be in WV if it wasn't for you posting here so for that I thank you! Also I was wondering How long is it gonna be and if there will be any other CB members there? Oh and this is would be my first Seminar I was wondering what should I bring and any rules that I should know like no pictures or no video tapes? Just wondering because it would be nice to take back and study at my gym Thanks again Eduardo!

Thanks Jason,

I didnt take offense in what he said, it's just that has happenned before and I dont understand the logic behind any complains anyhow. Im sure he meant it in the good side of it, and maybe a stick thread would help. Who knows, maybe a mod can help. Im sorry if I sounded pissed off.

For this seminar it will be just me and Shogun. As for what you should bring, there are no mandatory items. You need to bring your regular training gear and that's all. Now, if you have and want to bring MMA gloves, or even Boxing gloves or shing guard, this can help you to add intensity to some of the moves, but as said, its not mandatory. Same goes for mouth piece. You wont be hit in the mouth, but its good to get used to breath with it so we recommend.
You can take pictures, but we rather not have video because we are negotiating with a DVD company and thats what they asked us. Also, after the seminar Shogun takes time to take as many pictures as needed, answer questions and sign stuff. Its his pleasure. But some pics during the seminar are okay as well!

Any questions let me know,

Eduardo.

Hell yeah!! shogun in Charleston! that is awesome. I live about thirty minutes from Charleston and aside from drunk TUF fans there arent many people herein WV that care about MMA. I have been like spokesperson for Pride in southern WV...I force people to watch events and highlight packages at my house and then they always come back for more. Now i think i should take a group to see shogun.
