Matt Hamill's Wrestling

I had to make this thread. People seem to think he is the next coming of Dan Gable or something. He was a Division III champ. He is not olympic caliber. I am not saying he is bad, or that a DIII title doesn't mean anything (I am a DIII wrestler myself). Just because they said he was olympic caliber on a TUF commercial, does not mean it is true.

And there's extensive wrestling fanatics on the board that support his wrestling ability as probably top 10-15 in mma.

It's not just about his titles. It's about his domination, and his senior year where he beat numerous D1 wrestlers.

He's not a wrestling god, but he's a very dominant wrestler who's style can translate well into MMA.

Didn't he finish 8th in the Olympic trials? I could be wrong. I often am.

Ask yourself this. Who is a better wrestler than Hamill in the UFC today other than Josh Koscheck? He doesn't have to be the best wrestler in the world he just has to be better than
his opponents.

For example they have Mark Coleman's finish in the trials
