Um... no. If you read the quote he said:

"Machida is a contender for the belt who technically should be in line for a challenge next."

That was what I was responding too.

That being said I don't think coleman has any business in the octagon period. I have all the respect in the world for the guy but it's just time to retire to the well deserved hall of fame spot he earned. Does anyone really want to see Coleman tarnish his legacy to prop up a new fighter?

Who cares that Coleman isn't as good as he used to be. I'd still like to see him fight. I'm guessing he's looking for a payday more than a win. Let he have it.

Yes those are the calibre of opponents he should be fighting at his age and stage in his career. Shamrock, Frye, Kimo, those type of dudes...

Disagreeing with that is one thing, but saying that that post is delusional is absolutely idiotic on your part. It's debatable whether he's next in line for a title shot but Machida is most definitely a top contender in the LHW division.

Guess you have not seen him latley. He is walking around at 215lb at best. He was a pumped up HW to begin with, so take away some help (hint hint) and 205lb will be a piece of cake (making the weight, not fighting). I think he want a few pay days and then will be done. they were smart not to put him against Lesnar because it would have been bad. Coleman would have looked tiny and old and got killed. He even said so in a interview (not that he would have been killed but he didnt think it was a good match up).

Yeah Coleman's size has come down the same way Randleman's and Shamrock's have. And Belfort's. They were all over-muscled guys who are all between 5'10-6' tall. Most people who are 6' tall today can fight at 185, and some even at 170 if they don't carry a lot of muscle.

Rarely do you see any succesful 6' tall HW's anymore. People are just too big now.
