Marcus Davis: In my opinion I belong in the top ten now!!
A cool new interview from Davis as he talks UFC title, Fedor, GSP, Cro-Cop and his ability to KO anyone!!
Quote:
PDG: You’re coming off a big win – your eleventh in a row; how do you feel about it?
Marcus: I feel great. I’m doing what I’m meant to do. I started out real rocky with this MMA thing – I didn’t think I’d get the hang of it because I just wanted to be a sprawl and brawler, but I’ve just taken in the whole sport now. I don’t have the fear of hitting the ground now so I can go out there and do what I have to do standing up, so it’s really opened my game.
PDG: What did the rocky start in MMA do for you? I mean, at this point you’re on a big win streak and people are starting to rank you in the top ten.
Marcus: I think the jury is still out on whether I deserve to be in the top ten or not, but there is no question that I’ve come a long ways since The Ultimate Fighter. I have just as many wins by submission as I do by KO and the difference is people see, or should realize, there is no one in the welterweight division in the top ten that I couldn’t knock out with one punch. There is no one – we are all human, we’re all the same. I have power that no one else in the welterweight division has as far as much punching power. I’m a trained puncher and I know how to do it – its second nature. Even Joe Rogan said during my last fight that guys were standing around – like guys from [Gabriel] Gonzaga’s camp, watching me hit pads and see what I was doing and they were all like “holy crap, this guy is the real deal.” So I have that kind of power. And I’ve never been knocked out in my life – not one time. Not sparring or competing. No one can go into a fight with me thinking they can knock me out with one punch, but I can always do that to anyone I fight – so I’m dangerous to anyone I fight. I have enough ground skill now to nullify a lot of the grappling and stand back up on my feet, and I can do it myself – I’ve obviously showed people I can pull off submissions out of nowhere. In my opinion I belong in the top ten now.

Beat some top 15 competition first Marcus.
I'd like to see him fight Lytle or Cummo. Then we'll see.

edit I misread that part, my bad.
I agree with you guys, he needs to fight some higher ranked guys before he can claim top ten

I think he needs one or two more wins to get in the top 10.

I think he and Chris Lytle would put on a hell of a show.
I still wouldn't mind seeing him fight Karo.

yeah, cause jason tan, paul taylor (who by the way put davis on his ass with a head kick) and jess liaudin are top of the food chain. I mean how could he beat those guys and not rank with the best in the world? sorry buddy that doesn't get you into the top 10.
I actually like marcus davis, he comes out and bangs with his neck on the line and all of his fights are exciting to watch...but he's getting a little carried away with this. almost to the point of delusion.
