I know I certainly would have enjoyed being the "Noob Saibat" of MMA.
Anyways, I can appreciate watching MMA for the action. I can see that appeal, obviously. But it certainly isn't the most interesting- otherwise, I would watch kung fu movies, dragonball z, rocky, and pro wrestling. The greatest appeal to MMA is the realism, and seeing which techniques are superior, and who can implement them in the most effective manner. So in my mind, Machida should be one of the MOST interesting fighters to watch, because he's someone yet to be figured out. He's fought solid strikers, wrestlers, and BJJ practitioners. Everytime he fights, it's like watching another piece to the riddle of "what is machida's weakness".
Anyways, I just woke up not too long ago, so if I came off as ranting, fuck you.

Good analogy, I kinda agree.
But its Noob Saibot. Tobias Boon inverted. The co-creators of MK.

I agree
I like a spectacle as much as the next guy, but I totally agree with this poster. MMA is exciting not because of blood and guts, but because of the finesse and technique. The fact that no one has beaten Machida is a credit to him. In my opinion, his style makes other fighters "look bad". That is not exactly the same as him looking good. It furthermore makes his fights less exciting than many viewers would prefer. That said, I don't miss a Machida fight because I want to see who/how is going to solve the riddle.
Seriously, who wasn't hoping Ortiz was going to secure that triangle? I can't remember the last time I was rooting for Ortiz before that moment.

So wait. Are you saying you DO understand Machida but still don't like watching his style?
You would be the first person on sherdog to say that all except the other 47,067 posts saying exactly this thing.
You do realize he has far more haters on sherdog than fans, right?

I'm glad all fighters don't share his style, but I enjoy watching what he does.
