Machida vs. Action
If Machida is a sherdogger (i know he most likely isn't), he's probably wishing for a return to "who is ryoto?" era. That's because he would have appreciated the mystique of being the unknown, undefeated fighter that had beaten the likes of penn, bonnar, and franklin, to the current wave of "he's technical, but boring". I know I certainly would have enjoyed being the "Noob Saibat" of MMA.
Anyways, I can appreciate watching MMA for the action. I can see that appeal, obviously. But it certainly isn't the most interesting- otherwise, I would watch kung fu movies, dragonball z, rocky, and pro wrestling. The greatest appeal to MMA is the realism, and seeing which techniques are superior, and who can implement them in the most effective manner. So in my mind, Machida should be one of the MOST interesting fighters to watch, because he's someone yet to be figured out. He's fought solid strikers, wrestlers, and BJJ practitioners. Everytime he fights, it's like watching another piece to the riddle of "what is machida's weakness".
Anyways, I just woke up not too long ago, so if I came off as ranting, fuck you.

I find Machida pretty boring. I'm not a hater, but i'm a fan of fighters who i enjoy watching and who make exciting fights with sweet subs or KO's, whereas Machida doesn't seem to do much other than outpoint opponents.
My main problem is people putting him in top 5's or even top 3's. Tito and Soko are his biggest wins. Neither are in top 10. Tito used to be awesome but now not many consider him top 10 and Soko was overrated from 2 wins and has since been proven to not be top 10.
You can justify him being lower top 10 but i don't see how anyone could rank him above #7 really.

... I'm tired of all of those Machida threads. Normally I wouldn't post into a thread I don't care about but... come one, let the guy be. If all of those people don't like him, just don't watch his fights or watch them only for the other fighter

Machida vs. Action - Machida by UD
Seriously though, it's not like he's a lay and prayer like early Koshcheck/Sean Sherk. He just fights smart, which not always will yeild the most action. But, it's not like he's only trying to eek out a decision and stay away.

i really enjoy watching him figth...i mean everyone who hates him think about it the worst case and most probable outcome is you get to watch an unorthadox striking clinic for 15 minutes.
