Machida needs to work on his gnp, he almost finished Tito there.

Good work. You won't get many thanks for this but it is nice to see someone at least trying to offer something new.

As to the value of statistics like these, it is hard to really gauge. The effectiveness of each strike/sub attempt is questionable, particularly when you factor in the individuals involved.

Anyhow, I think anyone who watched the fight knows Machida won, particularly if they watched the part where the ref raised his hand, but I think a lot of people don't like his counter-striking style. To them, I have to say this:

Patience is a virtue, and Machida knows that.

for every punch or kick that Tito lands, there's about 4 or 5 that he missed COMPLETELY

Thanks for doing this.

Similar to how I saw it. Machida won, but it wasn't like Tito never hit him or never blocked anything.

Yep I think he'd need 2 posts if he included all of Tito's airshots.

i agree machida is pure skill....but back when wrestlers were doing the same thing everyone made a huge stink and now we have ref interference in the fights...

too bad tito didn't go for broke...he looked to be in good shape...just not fast enough.

he was at a very noticeable speed/agility disadvantage...very impressive by machida.

tito's only hope was to get careless and go for broke.
