Ah dude if you say Machida wasn't aggressive and trying to finish the Ortiz and Penn fights you must have never seen them and just be going along with the stereotype that he has been given.

o i saw the fights... 99% of the fights were spent ducking and weaving and dodging and running backwards... he got in Titos guard and Gpd a lil but i wouldnt say he was really trying to finish the fight

What motivates you and other Machida fans to push that agenda? Does it make you guys feel better about yourselves? "I like so-and-so, therefore I am more of a purist". Please. You guys seriously need to get over yourselves. I haven't seen this much displaced arrogance outside of Star Wars forums with heated Jedi debates.

Better yet, maybe you can explain to me how Anderson Silva with his precision striking or BJ Penn with his BJJ are more about heart and personality than "technical purity".
Anderson Silva and BJ Penn have excellent technique and are great Martial Artists. You, however, prefer aggression and heart to technique. You don't mind technique, but when presented with a fighter who only uses aggression and another one who only uses technique, you prefer the aggressive guy. You like the aggressive guy because he shows more heart; heart isn't a Martial Art, it's a personality trait. People who prefer personality to technique are more attuned to reality shows then Martial Arts.

I'm not being arrogant, I'm telling you what Martial Arts is. Martial Arts is technique above all else. If technique is secondary to you then so is Martial Arts. That's just how it is, you're not that much of a Martial Arts fan, and you don't seem to actually know what Martial Arts is. You're a fan of personality and fights first and of Martial arts second.

I'm deeply concerned that this thread is still on the main page.

Wow, I just got a Psychic Reading off of the internet. You sure know a lot about me based off my lack of enjoyment for one guys fights. Tell me that's not arrogance, because the stench of it sure is overwhelming. Or maybe that stench is coming from the line of b.s. flowing from your posts.

You've admitted you don't appreciate Martial Arts as much as you do aggression and heart. People who really respect and enjoy Machida's style tend to like Martial Arts (technique) more than aggression and heart. They're bigger fans of Martial Arts than you. That's undeniable, that's fact. I just spelled it out for you as easily as possible.

Quit trying to ignore it and cop out with that "Waaaah! arrogant machida fan!" argument and address it. If I'm wrong explain why.

What did I say about you that was incorrect in that post? Do you not prefer aggressive fighters to technical ones? Do you not prefer the Tito's of MMA to the Machida's?

I don't think he's a Machida fan; I'd say quite the opposite. He's so over-the-top with that attitude that I think he's actually mocking Machida fans.

Oh absolutely. I prefer Tank Abbott to BJ Penn. That's what YOUR point is. My point is that (apparently unbeknownst to you, MMA genius), Machida is NOT the ONLY technical fighter.
