Everything seems to turn for the best for Machida :
hate him or love him, you'll watch him.
By writing this, I've just noticed some weak argument in the TS analogy :
I will never pay to listen to Celine Dion.

I agree with you and that is one of the most frustrating things with Machida, he has a ton of talent and he is unable to finish.
It just seems to me if he stayed in the pocket a bit more, and yes perhaps ate a punch or two, he would be able to put guys away. He will stun a guy with an awesome shot and immediately move away before he can capitalize on it. He just doesn't seem willing to risk getting hit... perhaps because Joe Rogan wouldn't call him elusive as often ;)

Haha, that's a great point. Fighting is not subjective when you KO or submit someone. As soon as the referee or judge has to make a ... SUBJECTIVE ... decision, whether a fighter can continue or who won which rounds, fighting is just as subjective as art. Unfortunately Machida finishes fights like an alzheimer patient finishes a story... not very often and getting less frequent.

Stop the whining, how come all Machida-haters have to be so butthurt about it? I don't give a shit about wich fighters you like so why do you get mad at people for liking Machida?

You say Celine Dion has a good voice. Well, I'm a musician, and I think she has a horrible voice. The ability to hit a note does not make one a good singer, and all that woman does is YELL at pitch.
Am I wrong or are you wrong? The answer is that neither of us and both of us are, because......art is subjective.
You could say that because she has a huge following and sells lot's of records, that this proves she is good. If you did though, I would just bring up The New Kids on the Block, so save face and don't go there.
To say that Lyoto is a good fighter is not opinion. He has proven it, multiple times. Fighting is not subjective.
And on another, equally important, note. If you were to approach the worlds best jazz/jam/classical musicians (the most accomplished technical musicians in the world) and ask them if Celine Dion is a good singer, you would likely be surprised at how many of them laugh in your face. If you were to ask the best fighters in the world if Lyoto is good, they would likely all say "hell yes".
Look, some people are fans of technique before spectacle, some people are fans of spectacle before technique. There's nothing wrong with either view. Just admit what you like and let others like what they like, and for the love of god, never bring Celine Dion's name into these forums again, I'm begging you.

well, u can say anything u want but at the end of the day, she sells cd & u don't...
besides, i don't like celine
in the music industry, talent means nothing... take rap for instance, 50 cents can't rap, soulja boy is wack too... but they still sells...

Indeed, but I have to say I never expected a Celine Dion thread on Sherdog.
