Lyoto on his back? Think Machida v. Sam Greco.

He won a very very close SD, and had little answer for the side mount. Plus, Greco's G'n'P can't touch Tito's.

All this said, though, I still think Machida will probably take this fight.

plus greco weighed in at 110kgs
while lyoto was around 90

i have seen some of the best wrestlers and jijitsu fighters get smothered and neutralized by mediocre opponents (who weigh in around 20 kgs heavier)
not a matter of skill, but size
i think more impressive lyoto stood with top 10 k-1 hw, greco for several rounds

lyoto is a counter puncher, as are much southpaws
he has one of the fastest hands in his wgt class/for his size
he also understands distance very well, uses good footwork
something that most mma fighters cannot do

a silva has a completely different style from machida
long jab, good head movement, again uses footwork well, circles his opponents well
has longer range than most every his wgt
and when he's in close, he knows how to switch up on the knee

neither guy has great power, but it's another reason why they don' over commit and get caught
accuracy and defense beat power and open guard anyday

LOL. You make him sound like a ninja. You make some good points, though.

It's Machida's timing that he was trying to point out. And I would say he is like a kung fu master with his timing. I would like to see a little more aggression to finish but you can't really argue with 12-0.

I just want to see Tito get his ass kicked.
