A lot of fighters (especially wrestlers) could learn a lot from Jake Shields

just compare shields vs. charuto to sherk vs. franca...

look what shields does when he gets mount, unloads crazy amounts of punches, none of them were power shots but you throw your hands fast over and over and the ref will stop it

then look at sherk, he spent most of the fight mounted on franca, holding him, not letting any punches fly

basically what i'm saying is that if you have a guy mounted, you don't have to land 3 or 4 super power shots to get the ref to stop it, you just gotta land a lot of punches, regardless of how powerful they are, and the ref will stop it

anyone else agree that lots of fighters (especially wrestlers) when they get mount they should let their hands go, not super power shots so you miss and/or lose position, but just flurries of quick, accurate punches, and the fight will be stopped

agree/disagree?

I think you're on to something.

Maybe you should open up a gym with your own Marshall arts style: Most-lethal-deadly-unbeatable-definitefinisher-mount-eva Jiu Jitsu

Sherk was trying to sub Franca, almost to prove a point. Even the announcers pointed it out that instead of trying an arm triangle (where he was going to have to move his body) he should have just made it rain.

Obviously you're right, especially given how major orgs choose to stop fights. Randy barely hit GG from half guard but since it looked bad it was stopped. GG stood up seconds after. Chuck barely landed on Tito in round 3 of their rematch, same thing. Tito was fine afterwards.
