I think this is an area where Liddell is underrated. He has an accounting degree from a good university. That's no easy feat. I'm a CPA and I know that there is no easy accounting class. For Chuck to get through school playing sports/doing martial arts AND getting an accounting degree WITH HONORS shows his intelligence.

This seems to influence his fighting. The guy had a great strategy for Couture and implemented it perfectly. From watching his career, it seems he's figured out his best method and way to fight with success. To do so so successfully again shows he is a thinker.

Just thought this was an interesting point to make about one of the best fighters in the world. The guy is beast. He's also a strategist.
John Hackleman, not Chuck (or not just Chuck), is his strategist.

In any event, I think his intelligence has been eroded from too many punches to the head. He was asked to do a soundbite for a radiostation. Video was on Sherdog. He kept messing it up and then got pissed off. He couldn't remember the sequence. Either it was because he did not have an overly good memory or he was nervous.

As for getting an accounting degree with honours he coudl just have been a hard worker. Its not an easy feat but its not that hard either.

Accounting is a cake degree. So I must conclude that you are kidding.

Hahaha. exactly. And I like Chuck too.

Doesn't mean he is not intelligent in a fighting sense. But Hackleman would have played a large part in his strategy against Couture.

There are many other fighters who strike me as much more intelligent than Chuck.

Considering he went down the Accounting road, Chuck would most likely be on the more analytical side which could help in strategizing and breaking down his opponent's strengths/weaknesses. On the other hand, when you're actually in the ring/cage, your success would tend to rely more on natural instinct than thinkiing...

Accounting is a cake degree? I think you're the one who's kidding. What's your evidence for that assertion?

Try advanced robotics or physics, then I might not have laughed.

Liddell may well have a degree in accounting, but the dood who began this thread sure doesn't. And if he does, it suggests that having a degree in accounting does NOT make one intelligent. And btw, bullshitter, the BEST accountants found that MANY accounting courses were easy.

Chances are the BEST accountants wouldn't give you the time of day; you probably wouldn't understand their "fancy" words.

I'm not sure about your post, but I will say this; Chuck is a lot smarter than people make him out to be. People talk about him like he's some stupid white trash because he's inarticulate, but he's a lot smarter than people make him out to be.

Diego on the other hand I'm not as certain about.
