Liddell's Intelligence is Deceiving

Everyone has to concede that being a smart fighter is better than being a foolish or stupid one. Intelligence can contribute to strategy and decision-making both in training and in actual fights.

I think this is an area where Liddell is underrated. He has an accounting degree from a good university. That's no easy feat. I'm a CPA and I know that there is no easy accounting class. For Chuck to get through school playing sports/doing martial arts AND getting an accounting degree WITH HONORS shows his intelligence.

This seems to influence his fighting. The guy had a great strategy for Couture and implemented it perfectly. From watching his career, it seems he's figured out his best method and way to fight with success. To do so so successfully again shows he is a thinker.

Just thought this was an interesting point to make about one of the best fighters in the world. The guy is beast. He's also a strategist.

i agree that liddell is smart, but it's not because of his degree. take bush as an example, with a ba from yale and an mba from harvard. still, the pres. is as smart as a door knob. the only think they both have in common is their inability to eloquently speak in front of the cameras. still, i think chuck is times better than bush. i doubt liddell would call africa a crounty, and say words like 'strategery' or 'nukelar weapons'

and stephen hawkins is a smart motherfucker...i wonder how he would fair in mma....?

^^^^exactly.

Especially when it comes to an accounting degree where there is absolutely nothing creative about the coursework. You memorize someone else's thoughts and regurgitate them on command, that speaks nothing about "intelligence"....only the ability to memorize.

Why even bring up George Bush? He was a cokehead with a rich father who ran the CIA, Bush Sr. basically got Bush into Yale because of his power and money. Bush is a puppet, first his father groomed him to be a politician and now he's Cheney's mouthpiece. I think most people are smarter than he is, yes, even Justin Eilers would be a better president. I think Chuck is smart, he's quiet but he's obviously not a dumb dumb.
