ROUND 1:
The bell sounds to start the fight, and the fighters circle each other after touching gloves. 30 seconds go by and Silva rushes in at Liddell, throwing looping, powerful hooks. Liddell back pedals and throws stiff counter punches. Nothing much lands for either fighter. Silva slows the attack as Liddell circles the "Axe Murderer" from afar, throwing pitter-patter combos that tag the former PRIDE star. Silva again attacks, this time connecting with a devastating right hook that ices the "iceman." With 45 seconds left in the round, Liddell is dazed and Silva knows it, as he rushes in, but is caught hard with a trademark overhand right from Liddell. Silva again slows the pace, and the fighters end the round throwing outside shots at each other, with the occasional leg kick from Silva. A surprisingly uneventful round for the 2 superstars.
ROUND 2:
The second round begins much like the first, as the LHW's circle. A few "fans" grow inpatient and begin to boo. The fighters seem to pick up the pace, much to the arenas enjoyment. The action starts as Liddell throws a combo; right-left-right. Silva answers by bull rushing Liddell, landing several solid shots as Liddell is backing up and the crowd explodes. Silva is chasing Liddell along the sides of the octagon, tossing one haymaker after another. Chuck looks focused and lands a powerful left hand on Silva's chin, knocking the aggressor to the ground. The former UFC champion sees his opportunity for the kill, and goes for it. Still standing, the "Iceman" begins raining down punches at Silva, who is doing his best to hold on. After 5 seconds of fury, the official jumps in to save Silva. The fight is over at 3:40 of the second round by TKO, and Chuck Liddell is awarded the victory.
