Liddell vs. Shogun

INSTead of talking about fucking past fights about vitor, rampage and wandy let's only talk about Shogun and Liddell.

Liddell is one dimensional striker who's reason of existance is great understanding on how to defend takedowns and an unorthodox stance which allows him to come from different angles than boxing style strikers. He counter punches can punch on his heels allowing him to backpedal and drop bombs, also he has the ability to finish an oponent when he smells blood ( which is not something all fighters know how to do effectively ). He has lots of confidence.

Shogun is a multiversed striker, he relies on equal parts punching knees low mid and high kicks, Shogun's also has fast ground work and can get good position quickly, he is extremely flexible and will combine punches and kicks seamlessly.

the one thing that ufc people do not understand is that Chuteboxe is one of the best striking camps around and one of the most intelligent camps in all fighting, Shogun different from many of Chuck's opponents will come in Schooled on how to fight Chuck, he will come prepared. Chuck will not get handed Shogun.

My theory on the fight would be:
1 round shogun will stay back while Chuck is waiting, feel out round with no big deal except a few low kicks and some check punches.
2 round Chuck get anxious and starts to chase shogun around, they will trade some punches and maybe a knockdown for Chuck, at this point, but no Ko for Chuck, they trade blows but Shogun wisely separates after each exchange.
3 round Chuck is slower and looking for the homerun, shogun sits back and starts striking on bursts untill he manages the first clinch of the night and starts landing partial knees and attempts a few high kicks which some land partially at this point chuck looks wore down ( he did not plan on a 3 round slugfest ).

shogun by split decition after solid knees and kicks in the 3 round.

just IMO no nuthuggin on either side ect. in my scenario even Chuck could win the decition for the knockdown I think he could land in round 2.

thats apretty good job of explaining the matter but i say shogun never recovers after that rd 2 knockdown. chuck 2rd ko/tko

exactly, that is my point. I get tired of reading on these thread this stupid mma math. It just doesn't work. It was a joke. The fact that most do not even give Chuck a chance is a joke. They are the ones who make MMA look bad. Outside of a few matches, anyone and everyone who steps into that ring has a chance. Especially Chuck. He can take a punch, he can defend the takedown and all he needs is once punch to win. Yet he has no chance.

I rooted hard for Babalu, and Couture and many others. I am not a Chuck fan, however I respect him. There are many who are not fans of him, but fail to learn how to appreciate a fighter that is very very very very good, and that is stupid
