Obviously it could go either way, but I think Shogun would find a way to win. He's extremely intelligent and well rounded, his fight against Lil' Nog is ample proof of this. He's definitely good enough to stand with Chuck, but if that wasn't working he'd adapt and win some other way.

Lets understand one thing
you take a fighter with a fighters mentality
an absolutely KO power unequaled in MMA
Freakish Takedown defense
and an Iron Jaw
with a resume comparable to anyones'
and then say offhandedly that Silva or Shogun would destroy Chuck
what crack are you smoking.
I'm not saying that Silva or Shogun would not beat Chuck, but to not say Chuck has a legitimate shot at winning or being the best at 205 in the world is nonsense.
He Ko'd argueably the most well rounded fighter (Babalu), though not the best agreed, but made it look very easy.
History shows that Chuck "can" gas, and has taken knees in a clinch, which certainly in Silva's or Shogun's repartoire, is a convincing arguement in Pride's favour
While I still have not "seen" Chucks "gasing" issue convincingly corrected
The issue of being clinched has been resolved. That being if Randy couldn't do it in 2 or 3
don't think the Pride guys will.
That being said, the visciousness and complete striking of the Pride guys, doesn't "scare" me in placing my money on a guy
who
can't be taken down
take lots of shots
and ends fights with litterally 1 punch.
He keeps on "droppn" everyone put in front of him
We will get an answer within 1 year for sure.
Chuck will meet Wandy
and you might even see a Babalu/Shogun rematch also

Comparing Rua with Sobral is silly. Shogun is not known for finishing his fights by submission and Sobral finishes almost exclusively with submissions.
Shogun, in my opinion, could certainly stand with Liddell. Shogun certainly looked better against my man Rampage than Chuck did. (Of course Chuck looked better against Sobral) Liddell, one of the best strikers in the game, while having power doesn't knock people out. He knocks them down but he doesn't put them to sleep. Shogun has TKO/KO wins against Overeem, Rampage, Cyborg, and Arona which tells me he is capable of standing with good MMA fighters.
I would favor Shogun in this fight somewhere around 60%.
Just my opinion.
We'll never know until it happens.

Shogun is a bad ass striker...with every point of his body. 92% of his wins are by TKO/KO.
He may even be better than Wandy when all is said and done....too early in his career to tell, but the upside is amazing...Wandy will admit to this.
We all know that Chuck will fight anyone, but this won't be good for him.
I'd rather see him avenge the lame losses to Babalu and Coleman (still dispute this one)...Shogun, that is.
Have you seen Shogun fight?
