Ya know, I think alot people here aren't giving Rashad enough credit. Ya his last fight was a snoozer, and the fight with Bisping was whatever. But this is a fight that people scoff at and could be much better than you might think.
(This was in responce to a post from earlier about someone gettin all upset because of Evan's wrestling. Ground game is a part of MMA too, people!).
I always much rather see a striker, but wrestling and grappling are just apart of the sport as much as boxing is. You can't get mad at half the of the game. Rashad may be known as a wrestler, but we've all seen him strike: I'm talkin Imes here. Brad Imes isn't the best, but when he you have an 11 inch reach advantage over your opponent, I'm sure you don't expect to get out boxed.
Let's not forget about Liddell's sprawl and brawl. Rashad is gonna come in knowin that it's probably a bad idea to try and take Chuck down. It's even a bad idea to strike with Chuck. But if the Jardine fight with him taught us anything, is that on certain days, you can pick Chuck apart with constant kicks planted into his lovehandles. Evans better do his homework and come up with a gameplan.
Shogun is the perfect match and test for Liddell, however without him in the picture, you have to go to the next man who deserves it. Now if it was Forrest vs Chuck, then we'd really see some sparks fly (I hope we see that fight one day), but as you know Griffin is tied up. Thiago may have dominated Alexander, who is a scary man who is all about puttin on the pressure, but Silva hasn't earned it like Rashad has. Rashad has fought more, fought bigger names, and his record is just as spotless as Thiago's.
Oh ya, and let's not forget, that even though Thiago has KO'd most of his opponents, he's a Jui Jitsu practitioner. Hell, I bet if he did fight Chuck, then he would be lookin to take it to the ground. Chuck and Thiago are more equal in size than compared to Chuck and Evans, so Thiago would know that his chances on the ground could work. Rashad is smaller than Chuck, I don't think Rashad could successfully work his ground game against Liddell.
Now that I think about, I bet Thiago would surprise us all and try to turn it into a ground game, and Rashad would be the man to keep it standing. I do believe that Rashad would have enough confidence in himself that he much rather duke it out with Chuck.
