I can't wait until they actually start writing about the mechanics of the sport instead of the business aspect.

For the casual fan and especially for a new sport the mechanics dont matter, its all about the benjamins, ratings etc.

is espn really even needed anymore? ufc took off without it and i think it would be more benificial for them to cover it than for the ufc. i know its more exposure-alot more, but is it really a nessissary goal anymore?

Floyd has a point. Most contending boxers would need only 1-2 years of TDD and grappling training to become serious championship UFC contenders. On the other hand, would any of the top MMA guys be any threat to a boxing title holder?? Give Floyd a year and he'd demolish the 156 lb class.

Right now, an MMA fighter would beat a top boxer. But that top boxer is "just around the corner" from annihilating most MMA fighters. CC (though he's a former kickboxer) learned TTD and look at him now. Butterbean even beat a Pride fighter.

Floyd is just a bonehead.. You wouldn´t even need liddel to finish him.. Buakaw, Zambidis or yamamoto would all send him home with his face in a doggy bag.. Fedor, CC, Liddell, Shogun would all make floyd their bitch.

Using CC as an example of boxers going to MMA is just stupid. First of all he was a kickboxer, probably with training in many other techniques from his time in the croation anti terror force. How many other boxer/kickboxers have made the same impact as CC, not many.. Butterbean = freakshow (fun to watch but freakshow none the less) Thinking that a boxer could lean TDD, SUB def and change his style of boxing to match MMA in 2 years is just stupid in my opinion. Just being a good boxer does not mean that you will hold up when someone really brings the pressure on all fronts
