kid not ranked? what gives.

can anyone explain why yamamoto is not part of sherdog's latest 145 lb rankings. I know he hasnt fought anyone with strong credits since Sudo but he more or less demolishes anyone he comes up against. His recent fight history is a bit like Fedor's if not better and for some reason kid is completely left off the list. Thoughts?

As a side night, we need to see Faber fight Kid asap.

His only wins of note at 145 in the last three years are Miyata and Bibiano (whom he didn't demolish btw). I could be wrong but I think his only top 10 win at 145 is the decision win over Curran in 2003.

He's very well-respected and considered number 1 or 2 in the world in terms of ability, I don't think anyone doubts that. But he doesn't have a whole lot of good wins. His record is somewhat padded and some of his biggest wins are questioned (Genki early stoppage, Uno cut). The main reason he's not ranked by Sherdog or MMAWeekly is probably inactivity. He's only fought three times since the end of 2005. Took some time off to pursue an Olympic bid.

I asked the same question some time ago, Kid's skills are up there hes beaten sudo, uno, gracie and a few others that are notable. I went to a few of his training sessions when he came out to train with enson and egan inoue when they were fighting in Superbrawls, this guy is strong for 5'4 and under 150 lbs. Hes a great fighter I hope to see him up there some day on the P4P list hes earned it.

He fights at 155 a lot and like Juggo said tried to pursue the Olympic wrestling a little while back. It's weird, he isn't ranked but I feel he would school Faber or any other FW. Hope that fight happens.

I think they also took him out because he was supposed to be out of MMA for a while so he could compete in the Olympics for wrestleing. That fell through due to an injury so he only just returned. Besides, he needs an A list win to be back on top.

He did get taken out of mma for being over aggressive with a fighter he knocked out he kept on hitting him after the fact, the dude suffered a fractured skull and was rushed to the hospital. Due to that Japans top MMA brands band Kid and his gym killer bee for a while but he bounced back and they let him return the injury that your talking about happened when he went wrestle. I think thats what your talking about right?

great fighter tho
