Pride vs. UFC question

So obviously Pride has an alternative motive in allowing Wandy to fight Chuck at 65. My question is why is Pride doing this? Is it to gain a larger American fan base? Is it to prove their champion is the best in the world? Is it for the money the UFC is going to pay them for Wandy’s rights for the fight? Are they intending on bring UFC fighters to Pride following 65 to fight under Pride rules?

I would think that if they are lending there fighters to UFC they are going to expect the UFC to at some point lend fighters to them, ie. Sylvia vs. Fedor in a ring, If Chuck wins then Chuck vs. Shogun in a ring with stomps, Chuck vs. Wandy 2 with Pride rules enforced, etc… I guess other than to gain some more popularity in the US it seems as if they are expecting some form of future compensation, any thoughts?

UFC sent liddell to pride and got smashed by rampage

PRIDE wants the US exposure they will get after Wand beats Chuck down, and all the TUF mullets say oh man what the hell is that pride stuff, hey when is pride having a TUF????lmao

Considering the crowd reaction (or lack of) to W. Silva. This is a very smart move by pride. With there upcoming show in America they need as much exposure as possible.

Well Pride is poised for a hostile US takeover. They have little name recognition here. They have very limited fan base. Chuck Liddell is the face of "cage fighting" in the US. Having your champ destroy Chuck Liddell will do more than a year of PR and advertising work. Essentially Pride would probably lose money for a year or so before people would start coming around to Pride. This way, everyone knows who Pride is before it gets here. (shortly after 1st event).

This is Pride's thinking, IMO. I am debating the outcome of this fight. However, If Wanderlei Silva destroys Chuck, tito, and maybe even Couture...UFC will be in disarray. Even casual fans will know how impressive Pride is; and most will begin jumping the UFC ship.
