I was wondering what you guys think of Russian Kettlebells? Fedor uses them, that Karelin dude probably used them I would guess. How is it different then just using a dumbell? I loaded up 50lbs on my dumbell and was swinging it around and it seemed to work just fine.
You can load your dumbell just like you said and get basically the same workout. But the kettlebell just give you better grip wich will result in better form wich we all know results in bigger gains

Fedor has mentioned in his recent interview that he doesnt do any sort of weight training any more, though he did weights in the past to bulk up. That picture is probably years old.

Then I assume he just considers kettlebell training as a seperate thing from weight training. Cause if he ain't doing any kink of strengh training he ain't going to be champion much longer...and has no one to blame but his own lazy ass. You must have him mixed up with his lazy pale tatooed brother?
He and his coaches have stated in past interviews that he does bodyweight excercises only (pullups, pushups), no weights whatsoever. Bodyweight excercises = compound excercises = less bulky muscle mass, more overall strenght = better suited for MMA.
