Ken Tito 2- pathetic herb dean and pitiful for the UFC.
Regardless of whether Tito 'would' have beat Ken (which is still unkown, yes UNKNOWN), that was by far one of the worst decisions I have seen in a fight. Herb Dean should not be allowed to referee any fight of major importance. This is Ultimate fighting, not ultimate referee incompetence. look at the photo'es of the fight. Ken looked pissed at herb even before he had got up. After all the damage Tito inflicted on ken for 3 rounds last time, ken still finished the fight standing. And now herb dean has to run in and stop it after tito does one exchange. Bullshit. If every fight was refereed like that, all you would have to do to win is run at your opponent, get a takedown, look like you are doing a flurry and that would be it. Yes the Kenny haters are loving it coz it was a non fight, but that was pitiful refereeing. This is not tennis, this is the UFC. I personally wanted this fight to be settled after UFC 61. Even if it was for ken to lose that would be fine. everyone at least wanted and payed for Ken to get his chance. Now because of dean, we have to prolong this again. UFC and dean did themselves no favours. I just hope it was not a 'work' to protect the Chuck-Tito rematch. Either that or dean is just incompetent plain and simple.

weren't people making the same accusations against herb when he stopped the mir-sylvia fight? Turns out that he made the right decision, and even tim thanked him afterwards. first we trash the judges, then the refs. what's next, the popcorn vendors?

stop crying.
it was an early stop...but Ken would have just eaten 5 or 10 more elbows in that position and it would have been stopped. Just look at Tito's position...Ken was pressed up against the cage and going nowhere.
most people are just pissed they didn't get to see a bloodbath or a severe beating...get over it.

I love Ken, but the stoppage was only about 5 - 10 seconds early. The elbows were hard and it looked like Kens legs were open (not a normal guard, like he was seriously dazed). Disappointed Ken did not focus mainly (or even solely) on take down defense for this fight

I think the worst decision I've seen is Silva/Hunt.
Sorry, I couldn't resist. I simpithize with Herb. How the hell is he supposed to know everything that is going on? He sees Tito banging the hell out of Ken and Ken not trying to block anything. What is Herb supposed to think, this is Ken's strategy? He can't see everything, he isn't looking at the fight from 100 camera angles. He's one guy with one set of eyes trying to stay on top of the situation. I don't think Herb wants to see a 42 year old man die in the cage because he wasn't 100% sure that Ken was unconcious. Intelligently defending.
So, get off Herb Dean's back. Even if this was a mistake, what, that means that he makes a mistake 1 out of every 1000 fights. I can live with that. Plus, I don't consider it a mistake. It was a judgement call.
