Karo Respects Diego and does not underestimate him

First of all, I'm not Donny, TKD-CC or whatever name he goes by. You can read my previous posts and know that I'm a big Karo fan.

On the recent Beatdown interview Karo said that Diego is a tough fighter and could very well end up winning. The point is that he does not underestimate him, which is a good mentality heading into a fight with an undeafeated fighter. I know Diego is not a very likable person, and it's easy to hate him, the way he talks, his entrance music, his pre and post fight interviews etc. But as a fighter I mean he's decent and is a threat, like Karo said "to anybody in the WW division".

I'm just curious because I haven't seend Diego's fights except vs Brian Gassaway and Alessio. Aside from his persobality, how good of a fighter is Diego, and does he deserve the respect that Karo gives him?

I'm in the minority in thinking that Diego will beat Karo...So yea, IMO Diego deserves respect. I like his skill and believe he would've submitted Matt Serra in the 3rd round if he fought him, instead of Karo. I think Diego's in better shape and has cleaner submissions.

If we go by facts, Karo is in for a rough ride. While Karo may go in the favorite (although I don't think he should) he hasn't shown that he has the finishing power against strong ground games in many years, or ever really. This fight may very well go to decision and with Diego's agressiveness I believe Diego may show more to pick up that W. I am a much bigger Karo fan, I enjoy his style thoroughly, but he has trouble finishing especially in a ground war.

Isn't Mat Serra a BJJ black belt? how could Diego submit him?

I personally can't wait for this fight, two young hungry fighters, both with huge egos. This is going to be a battle

He's pretty good. At Abu Dhabi he managed to not get submitted by Marcelo Garcia.
