Is Karo a Prodigy?

I think he doesn't even turn 24 until August. In a sport where fighters don't seem to peak until they are in their early 30's, the sky seems the limit for this kid.

if he brutalizes Sanchez, yes he'll be the new prodigy. But God forbid he loses to Sanchez then this thread will be meaningless.

GSP is not a prodigy, but he beat "the prodigy" recently, so yeah a good argument. But a Prodigy is someone who has natural innate talent. Karo could be a prodigy because he's got the crazy Judo ability, much like BJ's BJJ skills. GSP is not great at one particular thing, but he's more well rounded and dynamic than borth.

karo deffinately has alot of talent and will no doubt get better with age and experience but i wouldnt call him a prodogy though. if you judge a prodigy by age the gsp is certainly it.

I remember before his fight with BJ in the prefight analysis, some writer on Insidefighting.com was saying that, unlike BJ who is a born fighter, GSP would have been successful in whatever he would have choosen to do. Either playing hockey, playing piano, selling insurances, actor...etc
He's that kind of guy that has it all.
He choose MMA, so he's successful at it.
I tend to believe that. I'm sure the guy will have another great carreer post-MMA.

Yeah, I forget sometimes that GSP is only about a year older than Karo. I have the strangest feeling these two haven't seen the last of each other.
