Kalib you should have thrown the towel in if you were injured, simple as that.

Personally i dont believe it was your injury that made you run away like you did, i believe it was your fear of being hit, and that alone.
We have seen it from you before vs Kendal when you got hit with a good one in the ribs, and also when you had that cut, you just dont seem to have the mental strength to fight through some scenarios, you have talent in BJJ just without the mental strength to be a fighter you will struggle in the octagon.

Even the fact you come to sherdog after each of your losses and post threads trying to justify them kinda highlights a weakness, cant imagine many other fighters coming here or even giving a shit what a bunch of people on a forum think, they are too head strong to let it bother them.

Matt Hughes said this game is 50% mental, infact a lot of boxers and fighters have always said the fight game is half mental, and thats where i think your flaw is, GSP has even admitted to being mentally weak, but he seeked help and just look at him now...

You should either seek help like GSP did, or retire from the sport.

Yea, ring not octagon. Why is this in the heavyweights anyway? Without meaning to state the obvious, Kalib is no longer with the UFC.

Whatever. If there are money issues, I have no sympathy. You choose to do this career, so to bitch about the money is just retarted. There are lots of ways to make a living, if you purposely choose one where you don't get paid much, that's your own problem.

But since you choose it, and were paid to fight, and people paid good money to order the PPV, you should have fought. But no, you ran away and didn't fight. I'm glad the UFC dropped you, I definitely would never pay to see you fight again.

Quarry wasn't mocking Starnes for getting owned, he was mocking him for utterly refusing to engage. He may have realized that he was totally outclassed that night, but at the end of the day, fighters enter the octagon, and get paid to fight. the fans paid to see a fight, not a scared guy trying to avoid knockout. He should have at least tried to pull guard or something, and taken his medicine if it doesn't work out. Finally, if his foot was in good enough shape for all that backpedaling, he should have tried using it to move forward instead.

I have said since you showed up on TUF that you had no heart to be a fighter. I still say the same. I don't care about your explanation, because it is an easy way out. I have taken the easy way out when I felt overwhelmed by the situation. This was in high school track, not on a professional level such as the UFC.

People fight injured all the time. Also people want to get paid. This is just not the sport for you.

Let me take this to a different level. Ronnie Lott broke his finger in the Super Bowl and was not allowed to play with a broken bone. Instead of sitting out the big game, he cut his finger off and returned to the field then put his finger back on later. A little drastic? Maybe. But it shows more heart than you will ever possess for this sport. I am sure you enjoy the sport, I am sure you enjoy training and learning more about the combat disciplines you have explored, but competing is not for you. I saw that the first time I saw you in the spot light.

Don't take this the wrong way, I am not attacking you as a person. You seem like you could be a great guy, just not a great fighter.

As a person who has been a fan of the sport for many years and been around some great competitors in the MMA game it is my opinion you should hang up the gloves and move on to something new.

In closing let me say this:
If you felt like you were beat so early you should have verbally tapped out and let us enjoy the Cain Velasquez fight on the rewind at the end of the night.

Oh, and for all those posters who say dumb sh*t like "if you got hit in the face ud cry to ur mum lolz" Kalib is a professional fighter who has spent years training and sparring, most people on this forum have not. If i'd spent a large portion of my life in MMA and was on the main card of a big UFC event in my own country....i would not perform like he did.
