i dont know that kalib is still reading this, but for what its worth, greg is a tough ass dude, and if he wants to fight in the ufc, im sure he will end up there. (nates corner man) He is also usually really classy and quiet for the most part and im sure what he said was in frustration. As far as people saying just get knocked out, thats just idiocy. No one is going to say to themself oh gee well since i cant do what i want im going to stand there and get knocked out. But if youre legitimately injured, then throw in the towell between rounds or whatever.

After watching Kalib on the TUF show, his fights since then (including the Belcher & Quarry fights), and his sherdog posts, I just don't think Starnes is a fighter at heart. I'm not trying to insult him or anything... 99% of people either couldn't or wouldn't even get in the cage/ring in the first place.

Ken Shamrock questioned his heart on the Ultimate Fighter; he quit due to body shot injury on the show (separated ribs or something); his "i can't see" moment when the doc checked out the cut in the Belcher fight (which was stopped); and his backwards marathon during the Quarry fight.

I think he needs to take a long look at himself and decide if he really wants to be a fighter.

Posting on sherdog afterwards with excuses and lame threads doesn't really help his case. Neither does calling the opponents cornermen f ags. Or telling off a legend in the sport (Shamrock) because he's pushing you too hard in training.

All the excuses in the world won't change the fact that he singlehandedly turned an entirely pro-Canadian, pro-Starnes audience into the loudest, most unanimous chorus of boos against a fighter I've ever seen/heard in my life.

I think if Rogan was doing the in ring interviews that night. He might have tried to ask you "what the hell happened out there" It might have helped clear things up right then. Also I didnt see that fight as a 30-24. Not sure where that score came from. Anyway, thanks for posting Kalib good luck in the future.

Kalib Thanks for coming on and tell your side of the story .Kalib i have been following you since TUF , I really didnt think much about you during the show since i didnt see you fight much and you where hurt on the show . fighting Danny Abadi didnt rise my eyes either . But after watching you fight a Tough Okami , i started to give you respect . I Was at UFC 71 event at MGM garden you fought a great fight against a tough Chris leben ,you where a 3 to 1 underdog , and you had the full MMA fight game that night you traded with a brawler had good take downs and wore down Leben . My friend saw Leben that same night try to gamble but didnt have his wallet on him trying to borrow money off his friends and he was all beat up with no money (poor guy ).

The Alan Belcher fight was such a sik fight , Belcher landed some great shots with punches knees and Elbows , but you stayed in the pocket and where landing some great shots right back at Belcher and even had him Rocked , The fight was stopped because of one of the nastiest cuts i have ever seen , But you still wanted to fight but the doctor stopped it , Me and my friends thought that was the best fight of the night and i started to become a big fan of yours.

I was really looking foward your fight with Quarry , thought you had a good chance of winning if you could get the fight on the ground . I know you train with great camps so i thought you would be ready for Quarry and his game plan to keep the fight standing , but after seeing you stand with Leben and Belcher i know you have pretty good hands . Win the fight started i saw you throw some punches and kicks and try to take him down once , The 2nd and 3rd rounds i saw a different Kalib than other fights that didnt want to trade or even try to get the fight on the ground just coast it out , The Quarry mocking was uncalled for but looks like he was sorry afterwards , The boing from your own country fans must of hurt and i felt bad , It takes alot to become a Fighter.

After the fight i saw alot rumors and reports about you , ( fixed fight, protest of the UFC ,didnt want to get hurt for 10k ,) I think me and most of the SHERDOGGERS Thank you for coming on here and telling your side of the story and things are adding up now on what happened that night .

As for UFC and fighters pay i think its bullshit , Thats why Randy and more fighters will be leaving if you arent a top name guy they dont pay shit , I have done some MMA training and thers know way i would step in Cage for $5k against a top trained MMA athelete .Its one of the toughest sports in the World but one of the lowest paided sports . It kinda makes me mad that we Pay $45 dollars for pay pre view , and $300 dollars for a ok ticket in Las vegas event ,and ther are some fighters that are still only making $3k in a fight in the UFC .You can only fight like 4 -5 times a year and have to pay trainers , so if you dont have any sponsers you are broke fighter . Most Boxers can make pretty good money ,and after fighting the will have money saved for retirement , For most MMA guys thats not the story people still working there day job and fighting , And if your name isnt Ortiz , Liddell and other big names you wont have lots of money or a retirement fund , I Think with all these new fight organizations you guys will start getting paided what you Deserve.
