One of the greatest outcomes of the PRIDE debacle was you scurrying back underneath the refrigerator, and away from the HWs forum.
Why don't you f'n even attempt to train, cut weight, work your way up from nothing getting paid pennies, to become a contender on a PPV televised sporting event. Whatever association you have with fighters means sh*t. I suppose next week you're gonna give your medical opinion on the use of anabolic steroids and their affects on the liver - because your neighbor is a doctor.
People like you and the majority of Sherdoggers frankly make me sick. I am by no means a Kalib Starnes fan, but at least he steps up and fights for my entertainment, whether it be a bad or a good night. Wouldn't surprise me at all if you shi*t on Lutter too for gassing. I guess it's a bit too much for armchair-fighters like yourself to just sit back and keep your disrespectful opinions to yourself.
If you (and the rest of you living-room MMA fighters) really want to protest, don't order the PPV of the "said" fighter you despise is on the card.
If any of you need to watch a fighter blindly runout and dive onto a sword with blood spewing everywhere, I suggest you PM (OYO) for a anime recommendations.

GTFO the Japanese fighters have the Spirit of the Samurai. Like Takadas War With Mirko And His Amazing Fight With Coleman Lol. The Japanese were so excited when Takada got that submission on Coleman LOL LOL. Who is more of a Chicken Takada vs Mirko or Inoki vs Ali?

How long do you think the sport would last if every fight gave us fans our moneys worth like this fight?
It was a pathetic performance, and Kalib's post further illustrates his unwillingness or inability to own up to his responsibility in it all. No apologies, just excuses. I'm a huge advocate for the fighters in the sport. I believe they deserve to be paid and treated better than the standard Zuffa contract dictates, but performances like Kalib's are indefensible and shine a poor light on the sport as a whole.

i talked to you over a couple pm's and you never answered my question; if you were too injured to fight, why didnt you just tap or submit verbally and save us all the headache? i would rather see a fighter tap out then prolong the inevitable. must be my bloodlust.

as a main event fighter on Canada's biggest MMA card you have an obligation to leave it all in the ring, win, lose or draw you will be respected
thats my take but that said, Kalib is great fighter and is measured by more than this one performance
|
I tend to disagree that Starnes will be measured by more than this one performance. I'm almost certain that it will define his entire career. This is the only time I have ever heard anyone discuss one of his fights after a show and it will be his last in the UFC, so I have a feeling it's what people will remember about him.

Sorry, but MMA is a "PROFESSIONAL" Sport is it not? And the UFC is suppose to be it's premiere organization, right? So is it too much for the fans that shell down serious cash to expect that the fighters actually prepare themselves like professionals?
Fuck yes I'm disgusted with guys like Lutter and Starnes getting shots at the big time, and pissing it away. I train in a gym with a dozen fighters struggling to make ends meet in the smaller shows. They have 10 times the heart and work ethic that Lutter or Kalib have displayed in there UFC tenures.

Kalib, if you're that fearful of getting KO'd that you refuse to exchange, then I think MMA certainly isn't the ideal career choice for you.
There have been hundreds of fights where a particular fighter was outmatched and outclassed, but they went out in a blaze of glory, like fighters.
Take Chris Leben vs Anderson Silva for example. I'm sure Chris knew he was in serious danger within the first minute. But he laid it all on the line and attacked Anderson. He's a fighter, that's what a fighter does.
I don't hate Kalib Starnes, i'm not going to insult or call you names. I'm sure you understand that your performance was unacceptable, and that's good enough for me.
You seem like a good guy and it's great that you take the time to talk with the fans.
I wish you good luck if you continue to pursue a career in MMA.

No, some people just understand the concept of forgiveness. The man didn't murder someone in cold blood(although you wouldn't know it by the reaction of some.) He fought a bad fight. It was dissapointing. It's over. Anyone who is gonna make it their personal obligation to actively hate the guy because of this has serious issues.

thats all well and good - but ask the pro fighters you train with whether they agree KAlib should get hate mail and be sh*t on, on public forums.
Does dissatisfaction with a fighter's performance warrant disrespecting him? ...It's not enough to say "I'm disappointed with Kalib's performance and effort in his recent fight; I can not be a fan of a fighter who back pedals the entire fight"?
..and speaking of Lutter, so what if he gassed? ...he tried and lost. He put on an exciting 1st round had had rich in trouble. Do you hate on BJ too?

Maybe if Kalib refunded their money out of his own pocket they'd get over it? Also, a lot of people get on Penn about gassing.

refund for what? so he didn't engage, WOW what a travesty!
He stayed in there and got hit like a heavy-bag. I dont know what everyone is so up in arms about. He got hit with some hard shot, and thats better than many LnP matches we are forced to watch - and this is coming from somebody with a wrestling and BJJ background!
I'd rather watch that fight 10 more times than watch Minowa hump Baroni's leg for 15 minutes.
...and I'd rather watch Penn fight an amazing 1-2 rounds then gas and lose, then not watch him at all. His BJJ, wrestling defense, and solid stand-up is always entertaining - win or lose.
