I think the problem in sports we always honor the team or individual who never gives up, throw the hail Mary pass and hope for a miracle

we also idolise the fighter who fights through pain, Ali fighting with a broken jaw, Couture fighting with a broken arm the last portion of his fight, Franklin fighting the Crow wiht broken hand and foot

these fights inspire all of us to fight with pain and adversity in life

could we all do that ourselves? probably not but we hope too

it was a frustrating fight for fans of yours, but i am sure it was more frustrating for you

Don't let these people get to you. Kalib was respectful to his opponent and the UFC in light of this situation, however I don't think Kalib is really respecting himself or the fans by giving excuses for his performance. Don't try and claim he's not giving excuses. A person who doesn't give excuses just says sorry, and that's it. It's cool that he's trying to set the record straight, but he's going about it in a weird way.

Of course though, no matter what he does, there will be some people that respect him for it and some that hate him for it.

Personally I'm not sure what I would do. Especially if it were the lead. It'd suck to not be able to put any weight on your forward leg for the shoot or jab. You'd be in a tough spot for sure.
