Dude? Seriously? You just f'ed yourself for the rest of your MMA career. Who's going to pay you MORE money to "fight" lesser opponents? People in pro sports play/fight injured all the time. No promoter is going to pay you more money for the chance that you'll put on another performance like that. You may claim that the UFC ripped you off, but guess what? You signed the contract. You agreed to it. Just like I agreed to pay for that UFC PPV. I will never pay to see you fight again, and if I happen to accidentally DVR another fight of yours, I'll fast forward it to the end to save myself another 15 minutes of time.

I must say that Kalib Starnes setting the record straight and not hiding behind random 3rd party excuses is an absolutely respectful act.

I still am disappointed in the performance because I watche dyou fight before, man, and this was just totally off from what I'm used to seeing. A lot of fighters just are NOT themselves for many reasons and get beat, or even beat themselves.

I'll admit that Kalib's post makes me understand his position much more. He was hurt and let's face it, Quarry is a beast.

However, no amount of explanation will ever make up for how Sherdog and the MMA fanworld will see him for the rest of his career. Many UFC fighters have suffered injuries in the cage and I have never seen a Forrest Gump like Starnes did.

I would have given more respect if Kalib had thrown in the towel due to injury and taken the TKO loss. Later we'd all see the x-rays and excuse Kalib, since a broken foot is no fucking joke. Instead, he decided to run and take the worst decision loss ever.

I think it was the wrong move.

just in case no one else has said this is the last one or two comments, if you're hurt you can throw in the towel. i threw in the towel when i hurt my back at judo and when i blew out my knee kickboxing in japan. in both cases i could have stayed away until the matches were over, but the i'd have lost anyway. if you were outclassed as well, well so be it. i've had my ass handed to me before, which is why i work in healthcare and not in the octagon (not everyone makes it). you do have to realize when it's over

yeh it was a shitty fight but i saw it as a bad match for kalib anyway: quarry is pretty built and powerful but very one-dimensional and if kalib couldn't get the fight down i saw it going this way (sorry kalib but i couldn't get it when the entire sherdog round table picked you to win, i just thought it was a bad fight for you). and if the man had a broken foot and was almost ko'd a bunch of times then it goes a way to explaining the performance.

i must admit quarry rubs me up the wrong way with his MASSIVE ego, so it's easier for me to see kalibs pov.

anyways, having the fighters in here posting with us (the machine gun jhun posted in this thread somewhere too) can only make this forum 100 times better so don't be dicks, like i said, bad matchup for kalib starnes, quarry is a powerful fighter who is going nowhere in the division and shit happens.

That is such an exaggeration. Quarry never got a chance to "beat the crap out of" anyone that night because his opponent was doing too good of a job running away from confrontation. Besides, Quarry saved the fight from being a complete mess, which was created by you, so he's a hero in my books.
