For what its worth, I believe that explanation it makes sense in your own words Kalib and sounds reasonable.

On its own, the broken foot sounded just like a made up excuse, but reading you detail about getting caught, the difficulty in fighting Quarry it all comes together very plausible. Good luck on your career and glad the financial situation worked out for you so far.

I don't think people are kissing his ass, I think they're giving him respect for coming out and explaining the situation. Also "hearing" him talk about the fight helps people realize that being a pro fighter isn't as easy as it looks on TV.
