I never gave 2 squirts of piss about Kalib Starnes either way. I looked at him as a middle of the road guy and didn't like nor hate him. Nor was I outraged or upset for the way he "fought" Quarry but coming onto Sherdog to post this thread got under my skin.

I will preface my remarks by saying that I was EXTREMELY disappointed with your performance as a live spectator in Montreal.

With that said...

Having read your comments with respect to your fight with Quarry, I have a completely different opinion of your actions.

I admire your willingness to accept criticism on your loss, and acknowledge that it was a lackluster performance on your part.

Although your latest performance has probably dropped your stock with respect to major MMA productions, I still think that you have all the potential to become a solid MW.

Having watched your performance on TUF, it was quite apparent that you are a well rounded fighter (I know that your takedowns from the clinch are a direct reflection of your training with Colin Daynes...who I have had the opportunity to train with while at Brock University). Moreover, you certainly possess the BJJ skills and stand up skills to outclass alot of MW's out there.

Having also competed professionally in MMA, I have the utmost respect for fighters trying to carve a career in a cut-throat occupation. I can't think of how many times I spent 4 to 5 times the amount of money of my fight purses on medical expenses for training injuries (and any athlete who trains at a high intensity knows that injuries are your REAL opponent) and nutrition supplements.

Unfortunately, it will likely be many years before MMA athletes can enjoy the benefits comparable to other professional sports. However, if you press forward, there is not a doubt in my mind that you will not only recover from the Quarry loss, but that you will also be a title contender.

Best of luck with your injuries, and looking forward to seeing you fight at your TRUE potential.

This obviously doesn't change what happened and we don't need to go over it again.

However, it takes character to stand up and explain yourself in a plain and honest way.
