Just a thought..Liddell, Silva, Ortiz

i was thinking this weekend. and i was like wait a second....this sounds kind of true..We all know that liddell has a fight with babalu coming up...for the title i believe..but what im thinking is if liddell throws the fight...losing to babalu making him the new champ.. Now we all know that liddell has a fight with silva in november.. if im correct meaning that they would be fighting pretty much just for the pride belt...Chuck at this time will not be a champion leaving the UFC belt in the hands of a UFC fighter still. If chuck wins the fight then UFC will brag their asses off on how they beat the champ...But if chuck loses then it doesnt mean to much since he was not the champ...
Now moving on...
Ortiz has a title shot later on down the road...if he were to fight sobral and win.. we would have the new reowned champ.....leaving historic rematches either between liddell or silva...either way at this point the belt will be in the hands of a ufc fighter...

im due for some bashing but thats what was on my mind.

Silva vs. Liddell is for the UFC Title, not the Pride Title.

I doubt Liddell will ever throw a fight. Dana said "IF" Chuck gets by Babalu he will fight Silva in November. It has not been officially announced as a title fight as I am aware of. Why would the Pride belt be on the line? If it was they would be fight for Pride not the UFC. I really don't know if it will be for the belt, maybe they will just have this fight at heavyweight or a non-title fight

On a side note, the Liddell/Silva fight is strictly an UFC event. While Silva is a Pride fighter, the entiretly of ticket sales and PPV revenue is going to the UFC. Pride gets no direct financial gains from such a match up.

Granted, getting Silva's name out to the mainstream American MMA fanbase should help get Pride's name known in the states.

Liddell vs. Silva is really the best UFC vs. PRIDE matchup possible. Ya i would like to see Franklin vs. Henderson but right now this is the fight. If Silva wins Pride will EXPLODE here in the US. If Liddell wins UFC will say onceagain that they are the best. This fight is much more than Liddell vs. Silva for the UFC LHW Title. It is really UFC vs. PRIDE for the U.S.A. fanbase
