Just saw Pride FC Total Elimination 2005 for the 1st time
Although I watched the first 4 or 5 UFC events at it's inception, I stopped watching UFC off and on for about 5-6 years. Recently, I've caught the bug again (yes, with the creation of TUF).
When I joined this board, everyone (veteran posters, not trolls) always talked about the Pride fighters and how they were better. I decided to rent Total Elimination 2005 and see for myself.
I was impressed. To call the last UFC card stacked would mean that Pride tourney was Super Stacked to the second power. Unbelievable collection of talent on one card.
Additionally, I'd read about foot stomps and I wish that the UFC would be allowed to use them. As I understandand it, the sanctioning bodies here don't allow it. Is that correct?
p.s. Shogun obliterated Rampage. It looks as though Rampage hurt his ribs after a knee by Shogun. Also, since most of the US audience doesn't know much about the Pride fighters, couldn't UFC unleashed start showing some of the old Pride matches? I'm sure that would help educate US fans.

I have a lot of PRIDE DVDs and TE 2005 is my least favourite. It has the best lineup ever, on paper, but the fights are boring other than Shogun's win over Rampage.
I prefer CC and FC 2005, PRIDE 10, Bushidos 7 8 and 9, and my personal favourite is PRIDE 25.

rampage had his rib broken in that fight. im sure its why he looked so lethargic - its impossible to breath deeply
