Whats with the whole teenager/pride connection thing you keep bring up? Im a teenager and almost all the kids i know are UFC nuthuggers with little to no knowledge of Pride. I'm just not seeing the connection here.

NO reason to hate on Dana... this was obviously a Shady move on DSE's part... I actually had a feeling from the beginning it was too good to be true

Well flush his credibility down the toilet.
Well maybe he rushed to the announcement before they actually signed working off of Sakaki's word. But for the sake of fairness, isn't Pride's word that shouldn't be trusted or are you too much of a nuthugger to see that. At the same time Pride is withdrawing from the Liddel fight they announce the UFC vs. Pride show which is a pure work of the imagination and they know that. If that isn't bait and switch and shady tac tics I don't know what is.

But no matter what trick Yakusa Sakaki pulls, it's always Dana's fault.

Wanderlei chickened out. Chuck was about to beat that ass worse then Tito and Vitor did.

Wow, so Pride publicly bashes Sylvia for alledgedly backing out of a fight with Fedor, but they can just back out of a fight that was announced on PPV and people still defend the actions...
At least the UFC has actually sent their fighters over before.
DSE is fucking with the fans, its not appreciated. Respect lowered.

I suspect that if Chuck beats Babalu tonight Dana/Chuck will either:

Call-out Pride/Wandy and do a little shit talking
or...
Never ever mention the fight or Pride again, refusing to give any more public attention to the org. that is their biggest competition.

Either way, seems pretty shitty the way this was handled and the blame seems to belong on the shoulders of Pride, as they were the only ones who had anything to gain from the 'announcement' of the fight and subsequent cancellation.

Sad day in MMA, Wandy in a three-fight deal with the UFC had so many phenomenal possibilites. We will see more crossover in the future despite this setback. Makes me sadder that the UFC didn't get Rampage.

775,000 saw Wandy staredown with Chuck. The next few days yahoo search had Wanderlei Silva jump up in the search by a huge amount. DSE makes a post about how they want a superbowl and expect 100,000 fans and all this bullshit to get press, and then they come to United States. I think they want people to think the fight won't happen because UFC chickened out.

DSE is making all these claims, they come to Las Vegas, the fight gets canceled, Dana doesn't talk about it. Is this all a way to market like the UFC is scared of this when actually it's just DSE pulling everyone around by the dick? Was this all a part of the plan?

"We'll talk a lot of shit about what we are going to do, come to America, dog the UFC at every possibility, and then make it look like they backed out and got scared of 'the Real Deal'". UFC's best bet is to not ever talk about PRIDE or Wanderlei again.. and DSE will probably play this up like they are scared. Sylvia chickening out is just another bullshit line dropped to market themselves.

We'll see how this works out for them in the end though.

Can you post a link to this thread...tried a search but...well....try putting in Liddell/Silva or some combination and you'll see what I'm getting at.

it doesnt sound like it will be good exposure for pride, if ufc keeps saying that they backed out of this fight etc etc. pride thinks it was good exposure, but how does "backing out of a fight" count as good exposure, ya know? if pride doesnt do well on the us pay-per view they might actually have to make this fight happen!
