Jorge Rivera hates Shonie
This was in the Boston herald the other day...
Living in a house with 15 other people is one thing. Living in a house with 15 other intense, strong, UFC-toughened fighters is another.
That dynamic didn’t bother Milford’s Jorge Rivera too much. Shonie Carter did, though.
“He was so obnoxious,” Rivera said of his “Ultimate Fighter 4” roommate Carter. “We’re all grown men. Most of us are between 28 and 35 years old. It got to the point where it was like I’d never seen grown men act like this from where I was from.”
Rivera lived with Carter and 14 other UFC contenders from May 19 through June 28, filming the current season of Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter 4: The Comeback.” The third episode of the show will air Thursday at 10 p.m.
“He’s a tough dude, I’m not knocking him,” Rivera said. “But what kind of guy goes into a house and starts spray-painting the UFC sign.”
Carter, who has compiled a record of 66-13-7 over his long career, defeated Rich Clementi in the first bout of the season. But more than his mixed martial arts skills, it’s his behavior that has -- and will -- earn the attention of viewers, according to Rivera.
“I know what I’m there for -- to make money,” Rivera said. “Everyone is there for a reason and his whole time there, he wants to be a movie star.
“He’s doing things like running around the house naked. He got all the empty water bottles from around the house -- and there’s a lot, you can imagine, with all these guys sweating and working out -- ... and he just throws them into the pool. Just to get attention.”
Rivera is under contract with the UFC and is not allowed to reveal too much of what transpired in the house, but he did hint that he got hot with the veteran Carter.
“I get into it with him fairly early on,” Rivera said. “He talks so much nonsense and I end up calling him out on it.”
Rivera hopes to capitalize on the experience of the show after it concludes in late October. The 34-year-old, who graduated from Bellingham High School, has been fighting for years, but it was his January fight with Chris Leben of TUF 3 fame that opened his eyes to what the television program can do.
“I went to fight him and I saw how the fans were treating him because he was on the reality show,” Rivera said. “It blew my mind. I saw the money he was making and I said, I can’t pass this up.’ I can’t tell you how much (the show) means to me.”
Rivera will be checking in throughout the ongoing reality show. So stay tuned for more insight.

Very nice of you to put words into Jorge's mouth.... nowhere in that article does it say he "hates" Shonie Carter. Loser.

I think Shonie is just making the most of his 15 minutes of fame... he prolly cant be a serious contender for the belt so he needs as much face time as possible to gain the support of the viewers... I remember an old beatdown episode where he said he wanted in on the reality show to gain some fame... so i think its all good thats he milking in for all its worth...

Granted.. i'll give you that.... but, the real point is that you have no fucking clue whatsoever who Jorge Rivera hates or doesn't. Sounds to me that Shonie was an annoying roomie....no more, no less. I sensed no hostility towards Shonie in the interview... I apologize for being "Larry Literal," but the thread title is a bit "sensationalized" if you ask me. Stop trying so fucking hard.
