Jon Fitch Did The Smart Thing. Proved That DW Is A Middleman.

Here is a passage from Bloodyelbow.com

Quote:
Less than a day after being reportedly ousted from the UFC in a contract dispute Jon Fitch is now back with the company, the top welterweight contender confirmed to MMARated.com on Thursday afternoon.

After speaking with UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta via phone, Fitch said the two had managed to clear the air, that the fighter would sign the company’s much-maligned video game licensing agreement and was cleared to fight Akihiro Gono at UFC 94, as previously planned.

Fitch added that he still hasn’t spoken to UFC President Dana White and admitted that he didn’t like the way he’d been treated by White during attempts to negotiate a deal involving rights to his name and likeness for the upcoming “UFC Undisputed 2009” video game.

“Communication kind of broke down with Dana (White) so we talked with Lorenzo,” Fitch told MMARated. “(I) just got off the phone with him and we came to an agreement. We’re going to move ahead and I’ll be back in the UFC. We’re going to sign off on the video game and I’m back. It was never even about the agreement or the contract. It was the approach that we felt Dana was being a little bit hot-headed and was threatening us right off the bat. It didn’t seem like a professional way of doing things.”

-Looks like everyone hopefully came to their senses in this whole fiasco after all.

If you want to get things settle, go to the main guy, forget the middleman. Dana White is basically a middeman in this whole situation and others as well.

His temple being manfested through the media has shwon a case of unprofessionalism while talking about making MMA bigger then Soccer.

Fitch knew that to settle this fiasco he had to go to the main guy Lorenzo Fertitta. What ever they agree on which persuaded for Fitch to sign the contract, I am sure it was done with a sense of professionalism.

Fitch admitted to his real concern on USAtoday.com

The Ultimate Fighting Championship's feud with highly regarded welterweight Jon Fitch lasted all of one day.

Fitch said on Thursday that he and heavyweight Christian Wellisch are back with UFC, barely 24 hours after the company terminated their promotional contracts. Fitch was the company's No.1 welterweight contender as recently as August, when he lost a decision to champion Georges St-Pierre. One of Fitch's teammates at American Kickboxing, Josh Koscheck, is also a top-five welterweight in UFC.

The company cut Fitch after he declined to quickly sign over lifetime exclusive rights for video game licensing. He agreed to the deal on Thursday after his manager directly contacted UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta, Fitch said.

UFC President Dana White earlier this week faulted American Kickboxing's management, but Fitch said the problem was White's approach.

"It was never about the agreement itself," Fitch said. "I feel like I should be talked to like I'm an educated adult. Sometimes I don't feel like Dana speaks to me that way."

Gee, and here I thought Fitch did exactly what Dana wanted and signed the contract with no changes made to it.

You can bet that Dana doesnt appreciate being made to look like a jackass - so Fitch gets the victory in that respect.
