The Jon "Bones" Gravano Hype

Can you all stop hyping up Jonny The Bull so much? Gravano has a lot of skills, is very young, and supremely talented. But stop hyping him up as the next big thing until we see him display KO power standing, and fight better opposition. Thanks.

All the UFC sheep flock to him because he's the fad right now. It's trendy to like certain fighters on this site but only until they lose.

Hes a young, hand picked fighter that UFC is hyping and protecting with bullshit competition. He will be exposed soon enough. Or maybe he is the real deal but until he fights somebody worth a fuck we just wont know for sure.

People are just hyping him up because hes young and dominant right now.

The same people will say he "was never that good" or call him a can as soon as he loses though.

Im really surprised everyone is writing off Vlady though. People make him out to be someone that doesnt even belong in the cage with Bones. I wouldnt be surprised if he beats him in a dominant fashion.

he's walked through everything that's been put in front of him...
bonnar, hammil and vera are good tests to have passed in the fashion he has...
he's done nothing but earn hype so far...
vlad is tough, but i don't think he has anything for bones...

I haven't seen enough of his fights to make a biased opinion one way or another, but he does appear to be an exciting fighter. He threw around Hamill like a ragdoll, and beat the tar out of Brandon Vera, so I'm looking forward to the vlad fight.

I don't know why everyone gets so upset about fighters getting hype. He is a great young fighter. He has dominated everyone that he has faced. How does that NOT deserve hype? would you prefer that he was gifted a title shot?

I think the problem is that people think Hype is worth more than it is really worth. Jon Jones deserves all the Hype he is getting...but hype is next to meaningless come fight time.

Think about it this way...Jon Jones completely dominated Brandon Vera. Randy Couture (WON!?!?!?) a questionable decision against Brandon Vera. People talk about Randy 18-10 as if he has been the most dominant fighter the UFC has ever seen, but people rarely get upset because he is over-hyped.
